A manhunt for the person who fatally shot conservative activist and father-of-two Charlie Kirk is believed to be over after President Donald Trump announced a suspect is in custody.
Kirk, 31 -- the founder of the conservative youth activist organization Turning Point USA -- was killed on Wednesday during a campus event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, about 39 miles south of Salt Lake City.
The FBI said it has recovered what it believes to be the weapon used -- a "high-powered bolt-action rifle" -- and believes the suspect to be college-aged.
Trump said on "Fox & Friends" Friday morning that a person is in custody.
The suspect arrived shortly away from campus, according to Beau Mason, commissioner for the Utah Department of Public Safety (UDPS).
Mason said the suspect moved onto the campus, through stairwells, up to a roof and across the roof to a shooting location.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls announces during a press conference that authorities have recovered what is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting: a high-powered bolt-action rifle.
The weapon was found in a wooded area where the shooter had fled and the FBI will analyze the weapon, Bohls says.
He adds that investigators also collected a footwear impression, a palm print and forearm imprints for analysis.
Sources later told ABC News the weapon discovered is an older model imported Mauser .30-06 caliber bolt action rifle wrapped in a towel.
