Ahead of Harper Beckham's 14th birthday on Thursday, those close to her brother Brooklyn and his wife Nicola - now known as Mr and Mrs Peltz-Beckham - have told friends that Brooklyn is almost certain to be a no-show at any of his sister's celebrations. They explain he feels 'he no longer fits in' with the Beckham family.
If big bro fails to turn up to his only sister's birthday celebrations, it would prove definitively what a spineless man he has become since marrying billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz, who clearly despises his family while at the same time seemingly trying to profit from the Beckham brand to raise her profile as an influencer and actress.
Brooklyn has been absent at all of the recent Beckham family gatherings, including David's 50th celebrations, and if he's planning on doing it again on Harper's special day, let's hope at least he contacts her privately.
Let's hope he reminds her that whatever has gone on between the Beckhams and the Peltzes, she is still his little sister and he adores her as he always has and always will.
I'm not holding my breath.
Perhaps he could even hop on a private jet from his home in LA and take her out on her own for a grown-up, surprise dinner for two without the cameras or his ghastly mean-girl wife - just the two of them.
That's if he can briefly extricate himself from Nicola's company. Crikey, those two cling on to each other like survivors in the water after the Titanic sank.
You wonder if they even go to the loo without the other being present. Do they coo loving endearments though the bathroom door? I wouldn't put it past them given his given his slavish social media posts: 'My whole world x I love you forever x I always choose you baby x'.
And if Brooklyn does doesn't choose Harper (pictured with him) over Nicola for just one special day, it will show he's completely in his wife's thrall. Especially as he's his little sister's big hero.

Indeed, friends say she has been 'particularly affected by what has been going on in (the family rift) because she was always really close to Brooklyn'.
And now that her other brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, are striking out on their own, with their own lives and careers and relationships, Harper must miss Brooklyn more than ever.
It must sometimes be lonely for her to be just with Mum and Dad because however loving Victoria and David are, they both have enormously busy work schedules and one wonders how much Harper-time they can give her.
And think what it must be like to see her own family being caught up so publicly in the feud, with Nicola this week rubbing salt into the wound by posting pictures where she gushed over her billionaire fast-food tycoon daddy Nelson, saying: 'I love you so much dad'.
Nic even posted a snap joking that her collection of Labubu dolls were to her and Brooklyn 'our little family'. The hurtful jibe directed towards the Beckhams was lost on no one.
The fact is that first-born Brooklyn appears to be utterly and irrevocably estranged from his own father and his own family.
There wasn't even a message of good wishes from Brooklyn as his parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, even though his mother and father posted images of the family together in happier times, Brooklyn included.
Go back just a few years to when Brooklyn and Nicola fell in love, and Harper rather poignantly said that she was excited about big bro getting hitched. Her dearest hope was that Nicola would become like a big sister to her, given she was growing up in a household full of brothers.
Of course that was never going to happen - fiercely ambitious and deeply insecure, Nicola was not going to share her dim-witted trophy husband with anyone.
And he is too stupid to realise how he's being used to boost her profile with the Beckham name, as well as her career as a fledgling actress, such as it is.
In all the horrible fallout caused by Brooklyn rejecting his family, the one I feel most sorry for is Harper.
Yes she attends one of the most prestigious private schools in London and has on the surface a fabulous life with her jet-setting fabulously rich parents. But at 14 she is still so young and that's why the emotional distance between her and Brooklyn must hurt so much.
After Harper was born, her father revealed they gave her a second name of 'Seven' , explaining that 'it symbolised spiritual perfection, the seven wonders of the world, the seven colours of the rainbow, in many cultures a lucky number'.
Sadly, Harper will need all the luck she can get trying to re-establish ties with her big brother Brooklyn, especially as he has a female version of The Lion King's ruthless, unscrupulous Scar protecting him.
Brooklyn would do well to remember that big brothers are for life, and it would be wonderful if his and Harper's bond endures despite prima donna Nicola. He will hopefully come to realise that blood ties are more important than Nicola's family billions.
Above all, he will bitterly regret it if he abandons his little sister on her big day. Happy Birthday Harper.
