Viewers of Beat The Chase were left with their mouths on the floor when a contestant lost out on a £75,000 prize pot by just one second.
The shocking moment took place on Saturday night's episode of the popular gameshow, which sees contestants put their general knowledge to the ultimate test.
Following the cash builder round, where questions are worth £1,000 each, contestants then go head-to-head with a group of general knowledge pros - Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis.
In the nail-biting episode, contestant Sam bravely opted to compete with all five chasers for £75,000 and he put up an impressive fight.
When asked what the other name for German measles is, he said 'mumps', losing his lead over the chasers when host Bradley Walsh informed him with just a second to go that the answer was rubella.
The audience audibly said 'awww!' in response and Bradley admitted: 'And you were in!'

'You were absolutely in,' Bradley said, clearly shocked by Sam so narrowly missing the prize.
Following the game, viewers took to social media to claim that the contestant had been 'robbed' of the prize after his failure to get the right answer was only revealed after the timer had stopped.
Taking to Twitter/X, fans admitted: '#BeatTheChasers doesn't often get that close.';
'Poor Sam. Lost by one second.';
'Robbed.';
'Absolutely gutted.'
This was not the only controversial moment on Sunday's episode of Beat The Chasers, as viewers also took umbrage with ITV rejecting one of Sam's 'correct' answers.
Viewers were baffled when Sam's 'Chanel' was rejected because he didn't give the designer's full name of 'Coco Chanel'.
Comparing Sam's answer to another contestant's, another viewer noted: 'Why was Jenny allowed JFK instead of Kennedy if Coco Chanel was not allowed?'
They wrote: 'He said Coco Chanel! Out of order.';
'How did he not get Chanel?!';
'That was outrageous! Chanel Coco Chanel wtf. [sic]'
