US actress Brandi Cyrus has revealed she was deeply concerned by the rapid pace of her mother Tish's relationship with Australian actor Dominic Purcell.
The 38-year-old said she confronted her mother, 58, about moving too fast after splitting from longtime husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
'I did tell you that you were rushing marriage a little bit. It scared me. I’m like, "We just got out of one marriage, why are we jumping into another?" It freaked me out,' Brandi told Tish on Harry Jowsey's Boyfriend Material podcast.
Tish, who shares daughters Brandi, Miley, 32, Noah, 25, and son Braison, 30, with Billy Ray, officially called it quits with the country star in 2022 after nearly three decades together.
She married Prison Break star Purcell, 55, one year later in 2023.
Brandi, who along with brother Trace was adopted by Billy Ray during his marriage to Tish, said her concerns weren't about the actor himself - but about the emotional whiplash that can come from moving too quickly after a major breakup.
'When you rush things, [then] you have to take a few steps backward and work through a bunch of st you skipped,' she said.
While podcast host Harry suggested he was all for speedy proposals, Brandi disagreed and indicated that couples need to put in the groundwork to ensure a solid relationship.
Tish revealed during the chat that daughter Miley Cyrus had been her biggest supporter through the whirlwind romance, encouraging her to move forward with love after heartbreak.
But Brandi jokingly shot back: 'I feel like you don't like taking Miley's dating advice... I feel like you like taking your own dating advice.'
Tish's podcast appearance with her oldest daughter comes after she managed to bury the hatchet with her younger daughter Noah Cyrus.
The two had been rumored to be feuding over Tish's 2023 marriage to Dominic Purcell, whom 25-year-old Noah had previously dated.
Fans speculated the feud was the reason Noah and her brother Braison ended up skipping Tish's nuptials, which were put on at Miley's home in LA.
However, an insider claimed to Entertainment Tonight that it was Tish who didn't invite Noah and Braison, and they accused her of blocking them on Instagram after she began a relationship with Dominic.
But a potential thaw appeared to be in the works when Noah was seen spending time with her mother in July 2024.
By April of this year they had buried the hatch with Noah's appearance in a TikTok video, followed by her joining her mother and Brandi on their Sorry We're Cyrus podcast.
Tish and Noah steered clear of any talk of a feud during their chat, but Tish did reveal how they grew closer again.
She said that her daughter simply moving closer to her meant they were able to take walks together again, which helped them bond.
