A woman who was badly-burned when a grill exploded in her face has gotten married in hospital, in an emotional ceremony that was captured on camera.
Arianna Esquiline, 34, was on vacation in Miami, Florida, at the start of the year, when a freak accident changed her life forever.
She was using a barbecue grill when it burst and left her with severe third-degree burns across her face and body.
Arianna was rushed to the hospital and has spent the last six weeks in and out of 12 surgeries.
Despite the trauma, Arianna told local NBC affiliate, NBC 6 South Florida, that her injury gave her an epiphany about her relationship.
'After this happened, it made me realize this is the man I want in my life,' she told the outlet.
Arianna and her now-husband, Elvin, got engaged last May, but she decided to move up the wedding date.
Elvin told NBC 6 that he asked Arianna if she still wanted to get married after her accident, and she not only said yes, but that she wanted to do it immediately.
Arianna's medical staff rallied around the idea and escorted her down the aisle in the hospital's chapel.
'I said we will get married and she said now, right now in the hospital,' he recalled.
Elvin obtained a marriage license, and the two wed in a ceremony on February 12 at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
Arianna's medical team rallied around the couple and watched as they exchanged vows in the hospital's chapel.
She wore a lace veil and walked down the aisle in a walker decorated with pink and white flowers.
In an emotional moment captured on video, Elvin embraced Arianna's doctor and burst into tears.
In an emotional moment, Elvin was seen hugging Arianna's burn surgeon, Dr Jonathan Freedman, after the ceremony.
Dr Jonathan Freedman, a burn surgeon at the hospital, attended the special ceremony and congratulated the couple on their hard work during the last painful month.
'She has made an unbelievable turn and improved in her recovery, and we are all very proud of her,' Freedman told NBC 6.
Arianna still faces a long road to recovery with multiple surgeries scheduled and rehabilitation.
However, she said that she's thankful to her medical staff and is excited to return home to Fort Myers with her new husband.
