I am a beauty editor and have type 3A curly hair, which means that often testing out hair products leads to unexpected results (and not the good kind!).
It seems curly girls everywhere struggle to find products and styling tools that actually get the job done on our unruly locks, from straighteners to diffusers and beyond -- nothing one hundred percent fits the bill.
RevAir Hair Dryer
Curly girls are going to want to add this viral hair dryer to cart ASAP!
The RevAir Hair Dryer can take any type of textured hair and turn it into a flawless silky look in minutes. Whether you have ringlets or coils, this innovative device is breaking the internet with its shocking results.
I prepped my hair with the RevAir Extreme Hydration Collection to give it extra volume and shine
After testing a plethora of styles over the years, I recently decided to finally take the viral RevAir Hair Dryer for a spin. Before I get into the details, let me just say the results were shocking.
After blowing up on TikTok, the device, which we found on Amazon, has become known for its ability to take any textured hair from waves to coily and deliver perfectly smooth strands in seconds.
Before I dive into why this product has become my Holy Grail hair find let me preface by saying my only woe is the machine's size.
The RevAir is not a travel-friendly product with its heavy base and long hose giving off an almost industrial feel. I would not recommend this for ladies on the go or anyone who is extremely tight on space in their home.
Before, during, & after! My hair went from ringlets to silky straight in 20 minutes and it has never looked better
The first step in using the RevAir is always a good wash! The 5-star rated tool was ultimately designed for 'wash day' routines helping women reset their locks post wash. I prepped my hair using the brand's Extreme Hydration products which included a nourishing scalp serum, conditioner, shampoo, hair oil, and leave-in conditioner.
The products felt incredible going on and I was happily surprised that they actually did what they said they would in terms of hydration! My favorite product by far was the Detox Pre-Wash Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse as it actively felt like it was getting rid of dead skin and build-up while on my scalp.
What makes the RevAir so unique is it works for all types of texture using its advanced tension settings. You can customize your tool with seven tension levels to find the best fit for your unique curl pattern. I went with tension level three and chose high heat. After sectioning off my hair into smaller amounts using clips I got started!
I thought using the dryer would be difficult, but I was relieved to find it was incredibly simple.
All I did was line up one section at a time with the dryers opening, and my hair was ever so gently sucked in. From there, I held the device near my roots for roughly 30 seconds and then slowly pulled it down, revealing a jaw-dropping, shiny, smooth strand.
Typically, styling my hair with heat takes about an hour, but the RevAir took under 30 minutes, which left me speechless. The RevAir claims to dry hair seventy percent faster than a typical hair dryer and I can attest that this was accurate!
What impressed me the most about my experience, aside from the efficiency, was just how natural my hair looked and felt after.
Usually, when I use styling tools with heat, my hair looks dry, dull, and dingy -- but with the RevAir, my curls were left nearly pin straight but also soft as butter.
I genuinely did not feel like there was any heat damage occurring when drying my hair, and the reverse air technology made it not even feel hot while styling it.
Voilà! The RevAir Hair Dryer left my curls nearly pin straight and softer than they have ever been before
After using the RevAir for three hair wash days I can firmly say this tool is the G.O.A.T for curly-haired individuals. I will never go back to drying my hair any other way and the reasoning is simple -- this tool just works.
It left my hair looking shiny, healthy, and alive, unlike the many stylers I have tried throughout my career. Using the RevAir felt like a breath of fresh air after a long winter of bad hair days.
The RevAir Hair Dryer ain't cheap, but take it from this curly girl -- it is so worth it.
