On Wednesday, June 25, the country singer shared a heartfelt moment on Instagram with the pop megastar -- who gave a surprise performance -- as the pair connected at the annual three-day summer training camp Travis Kelce founded in 2021 with fellow NFL star George Kittle and sportscaster Greg Olsen.
"We wrote "cruise" 14 years ago and Taylor tweeted about it, the rest was history," Rice, 39, captioned the post, referring to the 2012 track, which ended up being recorded by Florida Georgia Line. "Most likely woulda been a big ole song anyways but her recognizing it sure didn't hurt."
He continued: "Last night I got to thank her all these years later. My music has changed significantly, but it's always fun to honor the roads that go us where we are. Baby you a song...💪🏼"
Alongside the caption, Rice shared three clips.
In the first video, the "Fireside" musician appeared to be sending a special message to his "That Word Don't Work No More" collaborator, Lori McKenna -- with the help of the "Fortnight" musician, 35.
"This is a time capsule," Swift says in the footage, while glancing at the camera. "This is from last night"
Rice then interjects, "Hey, can we get a Grammy tomorrow Lori?"
Swift then notes that the "Go Down Singin'" artist "deserves one."
"He wants one," she said in the clip. "Love you so much. Say hi to the fam."
Rice then said "Cheers," while holding his beverage to the camera.
The second video featured Rice performing "Cruise" at a Tight End University afterparty and panning to Swift swaying and singing along.
In the final clip, Swift was speaking to the crowd before launching into her surprise performance of "Shake It Off."
"Theoretically, how loud could the city be in here?" she asked in the video. "So, I was like I don't have a guitar and Chase Rice was like, 'You could use mine.'"
Swift delivered her surprise set on Tuesday, June 24, at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, where she performed her 2014 hit "Shake it Off."
"We would like to dedicate this to our favorite players who are going to play and these are the tight ends," she said, while sporting a black mini dress and matching boots.
An exclusive source told PEOPLE that "the crowd lost their minds" when Swift joined Kane Brown on stage to surprise the crowd.
"At the end of her performance she made sure to thank the band and gave each one of them a hug," they said.
