CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Police arrested a 17-year-old wanted in connection with the Sept. 7 mass shooting in the Flats on Thursday.
According to a release, officers attempted to pull over a car near East 46th Street and Carnegie Avenue, but the car fled.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol deployed a helicopter, which tracked the car to the west side, where it stopped near the 2000 block of West 52nd Street.
Police said those in the car fled on foot, and after a foot pursuit, officers arrested a teenager and a 21-year-old man.
The 17-year-old driver of the car was wanted on an active warrant in connection with the mass shooting in the Flats on Sept. 7. The 17-year-old was also in possession of a firearm when he was arrested.
Officers also arrested 21-year-old Xavier Baldwin who was also in possession of a firearm. Police said they have not confirmed any connection between Baldwin and the Flats mass shooting.
Investigators later found a third firearm in a backpack that was discarded by one of the fleeing passengers, according to the release.
Police said they continue to investigate the mass shooting.
Savone Robinson, 21, is allegedly one of four shooters who opened fire around 6:20 pm. on Sept. 7 in the 1000 block of W. 10th St.
Robinson was arraigned on Sept. 16 and is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Cuyahoga County Jail.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges of felonious assault, tampering with evidence, aggravated riot, and discharging a firearm over a public road or highway.
Cleveland police said there was an issue with overcrowding at Play Bar and Grill, both inside and outside the establishment.
The Fire Marshall was notified and responded along with other Cleveland firefighters.
When they arrived, police said the crowd inside Play Bar and Grill was pushed outside, and altercations started, with gunshots ringing out.
Police said they recovered 40 shell casings from four weapons as evidence.
A total of six people, including one suspect, were shot.
The city of Cleveland boarded up Play Bar and Grill several hours after the shooting.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, city officials declared Play Bar and Grill a nuisance, according to a letter sent to the owner.
On Sept. 11, the bar's lease was terminated, and the Flats East Development, LLC has retaken possession of the property.
According to city officials, the following incidents occurred over the last three months at Play Bar and Grill:
"The administration has a responsibility and remains committed to safeguarding the lives of our residents and visitors, which necessitated immediate action to prevent further tragedy," said city officials.
Just weeks after the mass shooting, a man was fatally shot in the Flats East Bank.
