Cody Simpson has quietly wiped a new song from social media after fans accused the singer of pining over his ex, Miley Cyrus, just weeks after she announced her engagement.
The Australian musician, 28, shared a video to TikTok earlier this week showing him strumming an acoustic guitar and singing raw, self-written lyrics that appeared to reference his past romance with the Flowers hitmaker.
But the clip was swiftly deleted following a wave of emotional fan reactions, with many convinced the song was a thinly veiled confession that his feelings for Miley have never fully faded.
The former couple dated for around ten months in 2019 and 2020, shortly after Miley's divorce from Liam Hemsworth.
The pair had been close friends for years before taking their relationship to the next level.
Miley, 32, has since moved on with musician Maxx Morando and recently revealed the pair are engaged after three years together.

Cody and Miley were once inseparable, regularly packing on the PDA, sharing loved-up selfies and even getting matching tattoos during their whirlwind romance.
They announced their split in August 2020, explaining at the time that they had parted on mutual terms after deciding to focus on personal growth and individual paths.
Previously speaking to Stellar magazine, Simpson admitted that he was forced to end things with the Wrecking Ball hitmaker in order to focus on his swimming career.
He also split with model Marloes Stevens for the same reason, and says that both break-ups inspired his new single, Let Go.
Miley said during an Instagram Live stream at the time that they were taking time apart to 'work on' themselves but remained friends.
Daily Mail has reached out to Cody for comment.
