A pair of soap legends from Coronation Street and EastEnders are teaming up for a gritty new stalking drama.
Titled Number One Fan, the Channel 5 thriller takes place within the world of morning TV.
It stars Jill Halfpenny and Sally Lindsay in the lead roles - and both are very recognisable faces to soap fans.
Jill, 50, played Rebecca Hopkins in Coronation Street from 1999 to 2000 and later Kate Mitchell in EastEnders from 2002 to 2005.
Madame Blanc Mysteries star Sally, 52, had a five year stint on Corrie's cobbles playing Shelley Unwin from 2001 to 2006.
In Number One Fan, Jill stars as Lucy, a beloved morning show presenter of 'Lucy Live' and the nation's sweetheart.
While regularly on-screen with a big smile on her face, she also has a thoroughly ruthless side.
Meanwhile, Sally Lindsay portrays Donna, an obsessed fan who comes across as a mousey, harmless nobody.
After Donna saves Lucy from an attack, the latter's gratitude sours when Donna's adoration turns into a darker obsession impacting her career, family and friends.
In addition to this, the TV personality is horrified to learn that Donna has a link to a buried secret from Lucy's past - that could derail her career if it gets out.
Mike Benson, MD for Clapperboard and Executive Producer said: 'We've obviously worked numerous times with two of the most talented actresses in the country in Sally and Jill - but never before in the same show.
'Seeing them both together on screen - and in two very surprising roles - is something I know viewers will be every bit as excited about as we are.'
The programme has wrapped production in Spain and is set to air this year.
It follows the success of Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, which was inspired by a real-life stalking incident over a number of years.
After leaving EastEnders, Jill went on to roles in Waterloo Road, The Feud, Babylon and In The Club, to name a few.
While Sally has appeared in Mount Pleasant, Still Open All Hours and miniseries Cold Call since departing Weatherfield two decades ago.
Last week, Channel 5 announced a new drama about the disgraced former BBC newsreader Huw Edwards.
Doc Martin actor Martin Clunes, 64, will play the Welsh anchorman in the two-part factual drama titled Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards.
It will focus on how the former BBC stalwart, who earned £475,000 a year at the corporation, led a double life as Britain's most respected newsreader while he secretly groomed a vulnerable 17-year-old boy.
Edwards, 64, was suspended by the BBC in July 2023 and was later convicted of making indecent images of children for which he received a six-month suspended sentence in September 2024.
Filming on the controversial drama has concluded and it is currently in post-production.
No transmission date has been announced but it is likely to be broadcast in the Spring.
The Daily Mail understands Channel 5 bosses tipped off the corporation about the production before the announcement.
In a photograph from the set of the drama, a suited Mr Clunes is seen posing with his elbow on the News At 10 desk at the heart of the BBC newsroom.
One BBC insider said: 'The timing couldn't be worse for the BBC. After all the recent scandals, the last thing the corporation needs is a new drama about the darkest chapter in our history. Everyone wants to forget about that awful man and move on.'
