Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been cancelled tonight - with a schedule shake-up seeing them booted to a rogue weekend slot.

ITV is instead showing football coverage of England vs Uruguay from 7pm.

Viewers, however, won't have to wait too long to see these installments hit their screens.

The two soaps will instead be shown on Sunday evening, with Emmerdale at 7pm and Coronation Street following at 7.30pm.

It's not just the soaps that have been impacted- elsewhere, a popular BBC show has been axed from screens this week.

Consequently, it means that another TV programme will be airing in the intended timeslot.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been axed from screens tonight - but fans won't have to wait long to see these episodes.

The two soaps will instead be shown on Sunday evening rather than their intended Friday timeslots.

Long-running medical drama Casualty first began in 1986 and is a Saturday night staple.

At present, the show is airing a miniseries titled Learning Curve, with two episodes remaining.

However, Casualty viewers will unfortunately need to wait for longer to see what happens next.

The BBC hit is being taken off air to make way for Big Night of Musicals 2026, by the National Lottery.

Hosted by Jason Manford, the evening celebrates West End shows like Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Matilda.

Meanwhile, Casualty will be returning to screens on April 11 at 8.30pm.

As well as this, the Death in Paradise series 15 finale was pulled from BBC One in a blow to fans.

Viewers have seen DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) face his fair share of drama - including reuniting with long-lost half brother Solomon Clarke (Daniel Ward).

The penultimate episode ended on an intriguing cliffhanger, with Mervin's niece Eloise unexpectedly turning up on his doorstep.

Although fans unfortunately have had to wait a little longer to see how this plays out.

The following week's installment was replaced by the annual Comic Relief fundraising special.

It means the Death in Paradise episode will instead arrive on BBC One tonight - Friday, March 27.

Earlier in series 15, an episode was broadcast on BBC One on Monday, February 16, rather than its usual Friday primetime slot.

As it happens, ITV is instead showing football coverage of England vs Uruguay from 7pm in the soaps' place.

The FA Cup match between Chelsea and Hull was broadcast on the Friday (February 13) in its place.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 booted a new show from its primetime slot after disastrous ratings - with two acclaimed series drafted in to replace it in a TV schedule shake-up.

The Hunt: Prey vs Predator sees ten players bid to win up to £100,000 as they compete in a contest of stamina and strategy.

To win, they have to split themselves into two groups, the predators and the prey, and each episode will follow them in an 'intense, dog-eat-dog hunt'.

But despite launching in the primetime 9pm slot on Sunday night, The Hunt will reportedly be pushed to 10pm from next week as a result of bad ratings, according to TV Zone.

It is being said The Hunt will still air at 9pm this coming Sunday but will be replaced by repeats of 24 Hours In A&E and Grand Designs at 9pm for the rest of its run.

The first episode on Sunday reportedly began with just 350,000 viewers and ratings fell even further, with Tuesday's instalment bringing in just 180,000.

The Daily Mail has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

It comes after The Hunt viewers were lost for words after one of the 33-year-old contestants revealed that he's a grandad - while others hailed the new Channel 4 show as 'perfect TV' after its 'brutal' premiere on Sunday night.

Ten players introduced themselves to each other during the first instalment, including dentist Nathan, who is a proud father-of-six.

The first episode saw the group getting to know each other, and viewers couldn't believe it when Nathan opened up about his family life.

Nathan, who revealed that he has functional neurological disorder, confessed: ‘I am a father-of-six, and a grandfather-of-one.

‘But we don’t use the word granddad, because it’s really uncool so it’s papa.’

Speaking to camera, Nathan said: ‘Life is always on the go, so this a break! This is a holiday. £100k would be life changing for my family.’

Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their shock at his confession.

'#thehunt Nathan. A grandad, at 33?!!!'; '33 and a Grandad?'; 'He's 33 and he's a grandad!? #TheHunt #PreyvsPredator';
'What ? 33 year old granddad?' 'Surprised no one had follow up questions for Nathan being a grandad at 33!? Maybe he's with an older person with children already.'
