A former Coronation Street star is set to reprise his role on the ITV soap, two years after his character was last seen on screen.

Actor Jamie Cho, who appeared on the cobbles as Rich Pemberton, a solicitor with Fabian Croft, filmed his last scenes in May 2024 as part of an exit storyline for Sair Khan's Alya Nazir.

Jamie's character Rich had employed Alya as an apprentice at the solicitors firm, with the character then leaving for a job in Ireland while actress Sair was off the ITV soap on maternity leave.

Alya later returned to the cobbles in November 2024, and while Jamie was last seen on screen in 2024, he is now set to re-appear as the smooth-talking lawyer.

An insider told The Sun of his planned 'short stint' return to the series: 'Rich is back on the cobbles and wants something from Alya.
'The last time he was here it led to her leaving her life behind and moving abroad for work so whatever he's got planned might not be good news for Alya and boyfriend Adam.'

It comes as Jamie made his debut in Netflix hit Bridgerton, which returned for the second half of its hotly anticipated fourth season today (February 26).

He joined the cast as character Lord Stotter in the period drama, who is seen cosying up to Yerin Ha's Sophie Baek's step-sister Rosamund Li, played by Michelle Mao.

It comes after it was revealed another Corrie star is set to return in a thrilling whodunnit storyline - after three years away from Weatherfield.

Having last appeared on the ITV soap in 2023, the actor will reportedly be back on the cobbles in the very near future.

DC Wiley - played by actor Ashley Campbell - debuted in 2021 and investigated Seb Franklin's (Harry Visnoni) fatal attack.

In his most recent appearance, DS Wiley interrogated Max Turner (Paddy Bever) over potential involvement in far right extremism.

According to The Sun, Ashley will be back on screens next week as nail-biting storyline launches.

A source told the publication: 'Ashley is a great actor and Coronation Street is glad to have him back.
'He'll be returning to the soap next week after a mystery Weatherfield resident is found dead.
'He will only be back for a few episodes and fans will have to tune into see how the storyline will play out.'

It is currently unknown whether Ashley will return for a longer stint.

The actor is no stranger to starring in soaps, having made appearances in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Viewers may also have seen Ashley pop up in Call The Midwife, Doctor Who, Father Brown and Doctors to name a few.

Elsewhere, one of the soap's favourite stars is taking a break from the ITV soap - to film exit scenes for a rival programme.

Catherine Tyldesley returned to the cobbles in October 2025, reprising her role as Eva Price.

Upon her comeback, Eva became the new landlady of The Rovers Return, running the pub along with new partner Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and their blended family.

The 42-year-old actress also portrays main character Kate Woods in Channel 5 drama The Good Ship Murder.

She is now reportedly due to fly to Malta this spring to shoot her departure from the latter show.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: 'Cath spoke to her bosses at Corrie about taking some time off to film her Good Ship exit and they agreed.
'When she agreed to return to the soap there was a lot of uncertainty about whether or not she would be able to go back, but fortunately it's all working out.'

The Good Ship Murder series three comes to an end this month, ahead of the start of filming on series four later this year.

Catherine appears alongside her former Corrie co-star Shayne Ward (Jack Grayling) in the crime drama, and her character Kate is expected to bow out of series four with a 'happy ending'.
