An eye-popping email that led to Leslie Rutledge, the Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas being fired from her post at the Department of Human Services back in 2007 - is resurfacing after her Super Bowl comments.
Rutledge drew conservative plaudits this week after cheering on the Turning Point USA halftime show during the Super Bowl.
'Proudly watching a halftime show option that I can watch with my 7-year-old daughter without being worried about the content!' she wrote. 'Thank you @TPUSA!'
But the internet never forgets.
Online users have been quick to flag an old email she sent to former colleagues that reads: 'Grass on the field...play ball. JK, He's probably got 4 hottie lil 18-year-old girlfriends.'
The email ended with, 'I'm gonna crawl back in my cougar cave now.'
She reportedly was referencing a colleagues much younger brother.
Online users are pointing out the irony in her comments, citing an old email she sent to former colleagues.
An email that got Leslie Rutledge, the Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas fired from her post at the Department of Homeland Security back in 2007 - is now resurfacing.
One user reposting her X post with a screenshot of the email exchange, saying, 'Imagine explaining to your daughter how you got fired from DHS... Yikes. This is your Lt. Gov, Arkansas. This is MAGA family values, y'all.'
That isn't the only email exchange Rutledge ended up in hot water for.
Another set of emails back in 2007 reportedly included racist dialect -- sarcastically mocking a family that came to their office looking for legal help.
Other redacted emails from her office littered with curse words include pictures of partially nude men, rude comments about coworkers, sexual innuendos, comments about dressing 'slutty' in 'f-me pumps' and 'showing her cleavage.'
Rutledge was classified as 'do not rehire' because of these emails, according to another screenshot sent between high-ups at human services.
Rutledge served as the 21st lieutenant governor of Arkansas since 2023.
A member of the Republican Party, she was previously the 56th attorney general of Arkansas from 2015 to 2023.
Her exact role at DHS is unclear.
Rutledge, along with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Attorney General Tim Griffin, most recently called for a University of Arkansas at Little Rock professor to be fired after they claimed he made negative comments about the Charlie Kirk shooting on social media.
Rutledge did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Even before the hitmaker took to the field, some fans grumbled on social media about his selection.
