The Issue: Andrew Cuomo's decision to remain in the NYC mayoral race on an independent ballot line.
If former Gov. Andrew Cuomo really cared about New York City, he would have dropped out of the mayoral race a long time ago and made sure his name was not on the ballot in the fall election ("Oh no, Cuo won't go," June 28).
He has no chance of winning and should have put his full support behind Eric Adams instead of splitting votes.
Although Adams is no bargain, he's better than what could be coming.
I guess Cuomo's ego and quest for power are more important than the people he's supposed to serve.
Cuomo must have the biggest ego in the history of big egos: He lost in the primary, and now he has decided to run as an independent in the election in November.
He knows he has no chance of winning.
As a resident of Florida and someone who prays that Zohran Mamdani loses: Cuomo, please drop out.
Sure, voters could move to Florida, but we don't need millions of fleeing New Yorkers.
Since announcing his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for New York City mayor, Andrew Cuomo has seen what resonates with Democrats.
Now is the time for him to hit the pavement and work through the dog days of summer to complete his comeback.
Cuomo is the reasonable choice out of this muddy field.
All the candidates have profound weaknesses, but Cuomo brings hope.
Let me get this straight: Cuomo, the disgraced ex-governor of New York, not only lost but got beaten by a socialist.
Now, as usual, being the narcissist he is, Cuomo will be staying in the race.
Andy: Nobody wants you, but as usual your being in the race may provide a victory to someone who will definitely kill the city.
Cuomo has successfully destroyed the state and now wants to truly destroy the city.
Be a true New Yorker: Exit stage left and let the city live.
Cuomo should get out of the race; staying in only helps Mamdani.
Is he so power-hungry that he will let New York City go to hell?
The Issue:
A nonprofit drug clinic called "Greenwich House" accused of enabling addicts in Noho.
It is absolutely disgraceful for politicians to let people abuse themselves and remain a constant blight on society.
It is not empathetic but rather pathetic that people seek to enable rather than rehabilitate addicts ("Pain in the neck," June 29).
In normal times, these politicians would be cast into the gutters, like they have done to these sick people.
It's time to change the way New Yorkers vote; what the hell do we have to lose?
As a former addictions expert, I can say that harm-reduction methods do not work as well as the research would like you to believe.
There has to be intensive drug treatment that goes hand in hand with this approach.
I am sure if mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani gets elected, he will turn Noho into a drug haven.
It was with severe disgust that I saw Page One of The Post on Sunday.
How sad to see a junkie shooting up in my old neighborhood.
Hey, New York: Get used to that and worse if you elect Mamdani.
He has called for safe injection sites. Where will these be located? Near schools or churches?
If you elect that maniac, you deserve everything you get.
