Dermot Bannon has revealed he would 'love' to appear on Dancing With The Stars - but there's one big catch that may mean he won't be appearing anytime soon.
The TV architect was speaking after internet personality James Patrice said he would wax Bannon's chest, massage his feet, and even fill in on Room To Improve if it got him to appear on show.
Patrice, who provides extra online content for the RTÉ dance show, said there would be 'war' if Bannon isn't a contestant soon.
The presenter said the TV architect would be the perfect choice since 'all of Ireland loves him anyway'.
Patrice told the Irish Mail on Sunday: 'There's something there for the ladies, for a few of the gentlemen as well, and he's already on telly on a Sunday night in January [on Room To Improve].'
He said Bannon 'would look great with the chest out' but added: 'Although he showed me his chest the other week, and it's actually hairier than you'd think.'
Asked how he would convince his fellow presenter - who has previously turned down DWTS - to come on board, Patrice said: 'I would say "Dermot, whatever you need to do the show, I will do it."
'I can wax him. I can spray-tan him. I will cook his lunches. I'll massage his feet.
'Whatever Dermot Bannon needs to get on that show, I will make it happen. I promise.'
The social media star continued: 'He will be glowing. I will do his skincare. I'll do his makeup. Whatever that man needs, I will do it. I'll make it happen. I'll marry him if he wants.'
Patrice joked that he is even ready to pitch in with Bannon's other TV commitments.
'I'll get the hard hat on. I'll get the hi-vis on, the steel-cap boots.
'In fairness, Dermot just draws a few blueprints, doesn’t he? And faffs about with his gable end.'
But despite the extreme lengths Patrice is willing to go to, Bannon this weekend told the Irish Mail on Sunday he is unlikely to appear on the show any time soon, mainly due to scheduling conflicts.
Though he's 'asked every year' to appear on DWTS, he said 'his heart would love to do it, but the head says no'.
'Firstly, I know how much work is involved. And secondly, it’s my busiest time of year with Room To Improve,' Bannon said.
'If they want me, they will have to move it to the summer,' he laughed.
Bannon showed off his moves - which some termed 'dad dancing' - for an RTÉ promo clip three years ago.
He said at the time it had been a struggle to learn the few steps of choreography for the video and reiterated he would not be going on DWTS.
While Bannon may be a no-show, Patrice said there is a 'good chance' fans will see Katie Price - who was in the DWTS audience last week - gunning for the glitterball next season.
'She said she would love to do Dancing With The Stars next year,' he revealed.
'I think she loves Dublin. She says she wants to do more over here, which is amazing.'
The DWTS podcast host speculated Price is 'probably a good mover - I can see her doing a nice bit of salsa there, a bit of a cha cha cha, definitely.'
'I haven't manifested in my life, but I'll manifest for this. I think there is a good chance... so I'm going to say yes, definitely.'
The influencer described the former glamour model and media personality as being 'so lovely, and a very gentle person to chat to'.
'I think people almost thrive on hoping that she's going to be maybe a bit mean or a bit nasty or a little bit unhinged, and she is the total opposite.
'People forget she's totally professional. She's been on TV for years. She knows how to act.'
Another dream guest for the digital presenter is former newsreader Bryan Dobson, who appeared in the audience a few weeks ago supporting Anne Cassin.
Asked for a social media clip if he would consider coming on, Dobbo replied that he 'could maybe be persuaded'.
Patrice told the MoS: 'My whole thing is, if they don't give an outright "No", then that means they're doing it.
'So I like to think of myself as an unofficial DWTS casting director.'
