Sparked by defensive dynamos Jo Weston and Emily Mannix, the Melbourne Vixens have cruised to a 68-52 Super Netball road win over the Giants.
The defending premiers moved to 2-0 and the Giants dropped to 0-2 after the first part of the double-header at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.
An 11-2 run by the Vixens set up a 12-goal halftime buffer, and the Giants never got the deficit into single digits, trailing by as much as 18.
The Vixens followed up their 11-goal opening-round victory over the Firebirds with another comfortable win, again winning all four quarters.
The Vixens' more accurate ball movement and shooting proved troublesome for the new-look Giants, who struggled to curtail Weston and Mannix.
Weston bagged four intercepts, eight gains, nine deflections and four rebounds.
Mannix, playing her first Super Netball game since 2024 after the birth of her daughter Mabel, made an instant impact after replacing Rudi Ellis in the second quarter.
She collected four gains, six deflections, two rebounds and an intercept.
"She (Mannix) has done so much hard work to get back out on court," Weston told Fox Sports and Kayo.
"She just had such an amazing return, we're all so proud of her."
Vixens midcourt leader Kate Moloney described Mannix's performance as "incredible".
"Not playing last week would have been tough for her, but she's worked so hard," Moloney said.
"I think it's been nearly 600 days (since her last Super Netball game) or something like that, and as soon as she came on she got an intercept.
"She's just a player who brings so much energy to our group."
Five straight goals gave the Vixens a seven-goal lead late in the first quarter, but the Giants slashed the deficit to three by the break.
The Giants shot only 70 per cent in the first quarter, converting just 65 per cent of their centre passes.
The home team got to within one early in the second quarter, but were burnt off in the run to halftime.
Giants recruit and dual Thunderbirds premiership player Lucy Austin (19/26) missed five shots in the first quarter and was replaced at halftime by Matisse Letherbarrow.
While the Giants never seriously threatened a comeback, Letherbarrow (18/22) made her first six attempts and gave the side a more reliable target. Her four successful super shots also helped prevent an even heavier defeat.
For the Vixens, Sophie Garbin (42/48) passed 2000 national league goals, and Kiera Austin (18/21) made all four of her super shots.
The Vixens shot at 86 per cent compared with the Giants' 78 per cent.
The Giants converted only 62 per cent of their centre passes into goals and gave up more turnovers and penalties.
