The EA UFC 6 news has come in fast and heavy this week. If you're a fan of the series, you're likely fired up to know the retail release is less than two months away, and the beta access begins even sooner. Let's dig into the details about access and features.
When Is The EA UFC 6 Release Date?
EA UFC 6 will release globally on June 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition will feature two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira. The Ultimate Edition will feature former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway.
Ultimate Edition buyers also get a seven-day head start with early access running June 12-18. A PC version is in development per multiple reports but won't be ready for the June 19 launch window. This is the franchise's first new entry since UFC 5 dropped in October 2023, marking a nearly three-year gap that I broke down at the announcement.
What Are The EA UFC 6 Pre-Order Editions?
The pre-order situations with this release need to be examined so that fans can pick the one that's right for them. If you play it seriously as I have with EA UFC 5 since it dropped in 2023, you'll almost certainly lean toward the Ultimate Edition.
The $69.99 Standard Edition includes the base game and the Iconic Moments Bundle, with three fighter skins for Chan Sung "The Korean Zombie" Jung, Miesha Tate and Leon Edwards.
The $99.99 Ultimate Edition adds the seven-day early access window plus four content passes: a Fighter Pass with eight UFC legends (two at launch and six rolled out post-launch), an Expansion Pass covering Winter 2026 and Summer 2027 DLC drops, a VIP Pass loaded with cosmetics and progression boosts, and a Rivalry Bundle that bundles two more skins with 500 UFC Points.
When Is The EA UFC 6 Beta?
In just over a week, EA is offering closed beta access to EA UFC 6. Those interested can sign up here.
The closed beta runs May 7-10 per EA Sports' official playtest portal. Sign-up doesn't guarantee participation, since this is a true closed beta with limited capacity, and selected players will receive an email with download instructions ahead of the weekend. Expect EA to focus the test on gameplay tuning, online performance and core balancing before the full launch.
What New Features Are Coming In EA UFC 6?
There are several things that jumped out when I read about some of the features coming to EA UFC 6. We're at the mercy of leaked info, so there's missing context, but ragdoll physics in the Frostbite Engine makes me smile. More realistic footwork is also very interesting.
I wanted to see something deeper happen with career mode, and it appears we're getting create-a-fighter careers and the chance to re-live the best moments from legends. There's also new modes coming in the Winter 2026 and Summer 2027. I love the sprawling pathway of features and continued support. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like we're getting Ultimate Team.
EA's official feature list confirms the mode names: Hall of Legends lets players experience the stories of UFC greats, while The Legacy is the create-a-fighter career mode that takes players from the backrooms to the bright lights.
Underneath all of it, EA is hyping new tech in Markerless Capture for authentic locomotion and Sapien Technology for fighter bodies, plus a Real-Time Contact system that powers the Frostbite ragdoll physics. A Flow State mechanic also kicks in once a player starts dishing out damage, engaging an athlete's standout skills.
