Elizabeth Hurley couldn't hold back her smiles as she opened up on her 'romantic' summer of 'self-care' with boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus on This Morning.

The model, actress and campaigner, 60, joined the ITV daytime show's hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to discuss breast cancer awareness month, which runs throughout October.

But it didn't stop Elizabeth from being quizzed on her relationship with the country singer, 64, which was confirmed earlier this year.

She told Ben, 50, and Cat, 48: 'I did have a lovely summer - a self-care one.

'I really wanted to stay at home in the country this summer, I stayed home with my new boyfriend and we ate well, relaxed, bird watched.

'We're both into birds of prey. We have a lot of long lenses and binoculars, and go to exhibitions with people showcasing off their birds of prey.'

After revealing that Billy Ray had been attempting to teach her the guitar, which she revealed with a snap of her holding the country star's acoustic instrument in a social media post over the summer, Elizabeth also issued an update.

She told This Morning fans: 'I'm terrible at the guitar but I'm trying, he's teaching me.

'He has written a song, I don't know if it's about me, but it's for me. It's about finding happiness. He's always sitting under a tree with a guitar.'

Liz also opened up on taking care of her own health, admitting that she now 'drinks almost nothing' as part of her self-care routine.

Opening up on how breast cancer has affected her family, she explained: 'One in seven women will be diagnosed with it; younger women are being diagnosed more and more.

'I lost my grandmother in 1992, and she didn't talk about it or know anything about the disease - there's a shame and stigma, but there's a 90% chance of surviving it if it's caught early.

'It's not self-indulgent to put our own health first. We can't care for others if we're not well ourselves. We need to have a mindset reset.

'I drink almost nothing; I never used to drink much even back in the day. People used to take pride in saying they're too busy to look after themselves but now we give more respect to people who look healthier and take care of themselves.'

The model, 60, joined the ITV daytime show's hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to discuss breast cancer awareness month, which runs throughout October.

Elizabeth previously opened up about her blossoming relationship with Billy, admitting the romance 'feels nice' because he is so 'supportive'.

She told The Mirror: 'Billy and I have had most of the summer off. 'We've seen both his daughters [Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus] play in London, which was great. He's very supportive, and that feels nice.

'We've adopted two tortoises, and I have become something of a bird watcher. We've just seen some goshawks. They're unbelievable.

'Very, very rare. There are only 1,000 nesting pairs in the UK.'

Earlier this year, Elizabeth and Billy Ray appeared to be going strong as they stepped out together at Wednesday's National Television Awards, five months after going public with their relationship.

And it seems they have garnered support from Billy Ray's daughter, pop star Miley, after going public with their relationship.

Billy Ray split from daughter Miley's mum, Tish Cyrus, 58, in 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage. Tish has since moved on with Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell, 55, and the pair tied the knot in August 2023.

Miley opened up: 'When you are younger, I think you just view your parents as mom and dad rather than individuals with feelings, with faults, with their own story.'
She added: 'The most important thing for both my parents is that they are happy, and it's clear to see they both are.'

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
