Former Home and Away star David Jones-Roberts was not afraid to flaunt his gym-honed body this week.

David, 35, starred as fan favourite Xavier Austin on the popular Seven soap from 2008 to 2012.

And the former Summer Bay hunk has resurfaced in Los Angeles looking decidedly jacked.

He took to Instagram this week to share the results of a fitness journey via a side-by-side photo showing two very different versions of the actor.

David was flaunting an enviably toned and taut six-pack in the 'after' image, which was taken in the mirror of a gym locker room.

Captioning the photo, David said that his new ripped form was the result of discovering discipline and committing to consistency.

'On the left: lacked discipline, low motivation,' he wrote.
'On the right: proof that with a little mindset shift and better choices, everything can change - not just physically, but mentally, too.'

It seems that fitness has become quite a high priority for David, with the actor regularly posting workout photos and clips to his Instagram.

David, who moved to Los Angeles after quitting Home and Away in 2012, has only a smattering of credits to his name.

He does have three projects in production, according to IMDb, including the film Pretty Boy Delaney.

David's not been resting on his laurels in Los Angeles, though, with the actor indulging another of his passions - cooking.

His TikTok feed is full of tips and recipes, with fans regularly fawning over his dishes.

He also lists his occupation as a property developer on Instagram, linking to his Airbnb property in Landers, California, near Joshua Tree.

The former soap star was lucky to escape with his life back in 2018, after a horror motorcycle crash in LA.

He revealed in New Idea at the time that he was riding his bike along Melrose Avenue when he hit the passenger's side of a car and 'went flying'.

A firefighter at the scene told the actor: 'You should be dead.'

David explained that he was returning to LA after having filmed an episode in Canada for the Stan series iZombie.

A car pulled out, causing David to crash his motorcycle into the vehicle's passenger side.

'I tried to get around him, but I hit the back passenger's side of the car and went flying,' David told the publication.

David also revealed that he tore the quadriceps tendon in his left leg.

'I had no control over being able to bend or lift the leg,' he added.

It seems that fitness has become quite a high priority for David, with the actor regularly posting workout photos and clips to his Instagram.

'I had to have surgery within 48 hours otherwise I might not be able to walk again.'

David became a household name after starring as Xavier Austin for four years in Channel Seven drama Home And Away.

In July 2012, he announced his departure, taking to Twitter to thank fans for their support.

'Just wanted to say thanks to all my fans out there for your continued support throughout the years. Truly wouldn't be where I am without you guys,' David wrote.
