Investing.com - Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Software and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.18%, while the MDAX index added 1.13%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.53%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 2.33% or 1.32 points to trade at 57.96 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 2.15% or 3.08 points to end at 146.54 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.92% or 28.60 points to 1,515.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 2.42% or 0.96 points to trade at 38.69 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 1.83% or 0.82 points to end at 44.03 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was down 1.54% or 0.83 points to 52.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 20.35% to 42.35, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 8.16% to settle at 18.77 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 5.60% to close at 4.64.
The worst performers were Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 2.86% to 108.50 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which lost 2.30% to settle at 7.82 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which was down 2.22% to 457.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 20.35% to 42.35, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 6.49% to settle at 52.50 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 5.60% to close at 4.64.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (ETR:DRWG_p) which was down 1.34% to 95.70 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which lost 0.88% to settle at 27.08 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.66% to 28.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 335 to 290 and 25 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.48% to 20.41 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.41% or 20.00 to $4,830.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.84% or 0.77 to hit $92.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.91 to trade at $95.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.86.
