Investing.com - Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.32% to hit a new 6-months low, while the MDAX index lost 1.78%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.93%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN), which rose 2.68% or 1.36 points to trade at 52.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 1.51% or 1.08 points to end at 72.38 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 0.55% or 1.40 points to 257.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 4.10% or 12.70 points to trade at 296.90 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 3.93% or 56.50 points to end at 1,379.50 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was down 3.86% or 5.80 points to 144.40.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 5.66% to 16.62, Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which was up 5.39% to settle at 16.43 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 3.76% to close at 17.66.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 23.20% to 48.92 in late trade, TKMS GmbH (ETR:TKMS) which lost 6.50% to settle at 72.70 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 5.45% to 26.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which rose 6.67% to 19.04, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 5.30% to settle at 46.50 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 2.67% to close at 23.10.
The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 8.02% to 52.15 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 6.84% to settle at 26.70 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.54% to 33.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 462 to 166 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.68% or 1.36 to 52.10. Shares in CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 23.20% or 14.78 to 48.92. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.30% or 2.34 to 46.50.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.13% to 32.53 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.99% or 131.82 to $4,540.82 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 4.41% or 4.17 to hit $98.65 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.63% or 2.68 to trade at $104.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 99.94.
