The Today Show's Al Roker was left scrambling by a young girl's lukewarm response to receiving a 'golden ticket' to see the Radio City Rockettes on Thursday.

The moment occurred early on during NBC's usual coverage of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Roker had just finished interviewing members of the iconic chorus line before bringing on the young birthday girl named Elliot.

'We have maybe the next Rockette coming up here. Hi, Elliott. How old are you? Today's your birthday?' Roker first asked. Elliot responded by telling the host she was seven.

Roker followed-up, 'And are you excited to see the Rockettes?' eagerly leaning in to hear her answer.

As Elliott nodded, Roker responded: 'Would you be? Well guess what, Elliot? We've got a very special something for you. Look here. You've got a golden ticket! You get to see the the the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes!'

One of the dancers proceeded to present Elliot with the glitzy gift.

While Roker leaned in more to get her reaction, the girl continued to stare at the paper with a blank stare.

'Are you excited?' Roker asked birthday girl Elliot after handing her a 'golden ticket' to see the Radio City Rockettes

'Are you excited?' Roker asked after several seconds, after which Elliot broke the bad news.

'I did that yesterday,' she said innocently.

Roker, 71, engaged in a bit of improv, seemingly to save the segment.

He told Elliot: 'You did it yesterday! Oh my golly! Well you get to see them again!'

The little girl let out a quiet 'Yay!' in response.

'Yay!' Roker also said, attempting to rouse up some enthusiasm.

'Happy birthday, sweetheart. Say hi to Hoda and Savannah!' he told Elliot, referring to fellow hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.

Elliot and Roker - both waving while the girl continued to unenthusiastically examine the gift - both bid the pair hello and a 'Happy Thanksgiving'.

After several seconds of staring, the youngster broke the bad news

'I did that yesterday,' she said innocently, receiving laughs from the iconic dancers

Guthrie, seeing humor in the exchange, shot back: ‘Hey, we saw her yesterday!’ Several members of the Rockettes were seen laughing as well.

Kotb - returning to hosting after leaving the Today show in January - could not help but chuckle.

This year's parade - the 99th in its history - featured 18 giant helium balloons, 33 mid-sized balloons, 29 floats, and nine performance groups.
