A teenage girl has been revealed as the victim of a deadly housefire north of Brisbane that left four others fighting for life, as a lithium battery is investigated as the potential cause.
Emergency services were called to Darcy Way at Lawnton in Queensland's Moreton Bay region shortly after 5.30am on Sunday.
The blaze was so fierce that the roof of the house had partially collapsed by the time firefighters arrived.
Neighbouring houses were evacuated as dozens of firefighters battled to contain the blaze, which threatened to spread to other properties.
Firefighters confirmed one person, understood to be a teenage girl, was trapped inside and had died at the scene.
Emergency responders also found two teenagers, a boy and a girl, and a man and woman, both aged in their 30s, on the front lawn of the property.
Residents had gathered around them and poured water on their burns before emergency crews arrived.
Several witnesses said they heard screaming and banging coming from the burning home before the four people escaped.

One person died in the blaze and four others were critically injured.
'It went from black smoke, within a minute, to flames,' neighbour Keiran McWha told The Courier Mail.
He said there was a small explosions, which he guessed might have been a gas bottle, which cause the fire to spread rapidly.
The four survivors were rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition with serious burns and life-threatening injuries.
All four were in a critical but stable condition as of 3pm.
Neighbours were evacuated from their homes but were allowed to return shortly before 7am.
One neighbour, Steven Cannon, described the scene as 'insane'.
'I just didn't know how to think or how to process it, honestly,' he said.
'I heard people arguing, and then I came out and saw the smoke. Then all hell broke loose.'
The ferocious fire caused the roof of the Lawnton home to collapse.
