I usually wake up between 5.30am and 7am - it tends to be this early as I love to get up for a home workout first thing.
I've got a dedicated room with a running machine, a little bench with some free weights and a yoga mat. I focus more on weights than cardio and dedicate workouts to strengthening one part of my body.
Varied diet
I eat pretty much anything and everything, although I try to avoid eating too much bread. I do like sourdough or rye, so I tend to opt for that rather than the cheaper supermarket bread.
I eat pretty much anything and everything, although I try to avoid eating too much bread,” says Laura Hamilton.
Laura is making a conscious effort to up her protein intake, so has a protein bar as a mid-morning snack.
For breakfast, I'll usually have something like porridge oats with a protein shake. I've recently swapped my morning Americano for a matcha with coconut milk, which I love.
Then, once I've got my children to school, I have a mid-morning snack. I'm making a conscious effort to up my protein intake so I'll eat a protein bar. My current obsession is the Barebells caramel protein bar - it tastes like a Mars Bar!
For lunch, if I'm at home I have something like a jacket potato with tuna and cheese. If I'm on the go I'll head to Aldi - I'm a big fan of its protein meals, like the teriyaki chicken with rice that's well-balanced and fills me up. Then for dinner I'll prepare a nutritious meal like salmon with noodles and roasted veg for me and my two kids.
Supplement regime
About six months ago I had a very regimented supplement regime, with a pill box for daytime and nighttime. I was taking a huge amount of supplements, and then I thought to myself: 'Is this actually making a difference? I'm not sure it is.' So, I stopped taking them.
The one thing I do swear by is a morning shot of bovine collagen. My hair definitely feels healthier and stronger as a result.
Skincare
Years ago, when I was presenting on Nickelodeon, I told a make-up artist I used face wipes to take off my make-up. She said to ditch them and use micellar water instead. I've followed her advice religiously since then.
In terms of skincare, in the morning I use AllSkin Med Ampoules - a concentrated booster serum of vitamins C and E that help to keep my skin hydrated. I use retinol about twice a week in the evening, I always use eye cream and I love Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask - although it does disappear occasionally into my daughter's room... she's got better skincare than I do!
Evening rituals
I think people underestimate how important a great night's sleep is. I'm active and I get up early, but it's all because I go to bed early, too, usually by 9.30pm.
