My favorite part about me new Caraway cookware by far was the eye catching yellow color.
According to the internet, Caraway's cookware is viral for its spunky colorways and legitimate non-stick performance. In the past, pots and pans have always had the same dark, dull look, and as a maximalist myself, I have to say seeing kitchen essentials become expressive has been a welcome change.
The brand is known for its bright yellows and eye-catching greens, and is referred to as the brand that started the 'pastel pan cult.' We went with the Marigold version of the 12-Piece Cookware Set, and with it got a frying pan, saucepan, sauté pan, and Dutch Oven, all with accompanying lids.
Typically, the 100 percent ceramic-coated cookware set goes for $675, but right now it is marked down to $400. My anticipation over these bright yellow pots and pans truly was unmatched. Right out of the box, I fell instantly in love with their shiny exteriors.
I was happily surprised as a renter to find my set also came with complementary storage solutions as well for both the cookware and the lids! It made finding a home for each piece seamless in my New York City shoebox apartment.
One of the biggest selling points that makes Caraway stand out is its commitment to a non-toxic design, a large reason why A-listers such as Jennifer Garner swear by it. I recently discovered that traditional cookware uses a standard nonstick Teflon/PTFE coating that in reality cannot withstand high temperatures required in cooking.
After reading through my new kitchen additions informational packet, I felt confident knowing that all Caraway products use a ceramic-based nonstick design that is free from PTFE, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, making it a healthier alternative to old school metal pans.
But truly, the real test I know you all are waiting for is the 12-Piece Cookware Set's performance. I am no cook, but my partner certainly is, so I had him whip up different meals for five days straight using the set. He made Penne alla vodka, chicken cutlets, and even chili!
To both of our surprise, the non-stick promise held true. In order to take care of our new cookware, though, we did give it sufficient time to heat up on a low simmer before adding real heat, so let it be known this cookware is not meant for those who like to put full flame right out of the gate.
Not one ingredient, from meat to sauce, stuck to the bottom of the pans or pots. I was able to seamlessly rinse off residue in my sink and sponge away any excess in one wipe (which, for me, is a home run because I hate doing the dishes).
We ended up buying some silicone handle covers after using our pots for a bit because the handles got pretty hot while cooking, and if you tend to grab it lower to carry to the sink, as I do can easily burn yourself. Pro-tip -- get the pot holders.
As someone who is guilty of often buying the cheapest kitchenware I can find, I can honestly admit that Caraway is well worth the price tag. It cooks evenly, cleans effortlessly, and looks so good while doing it all!
