My Reno Rules host Chris Brown reportedly had a falling out with the renovation show's sponsor, Adrian Portelli, a new report claims.

A source told New Idea magazine that the famed TV vet was not a fan of the high-flying billionaire's 'flashy' style and did not like his negative comments about rival show The Block and its host, Scott Cam.

'Let's just say, Chris wasn't a fan [of Portelli] at all,' the insider told the magazine.
'Adrian's flashy persona may make for compelling television, but it didn't exactly win over his co-star.
'Chris is down-to-earth and just wasn't a fan of Adrian's style at all,' they said, adding that Brown thought Portelli was 'over the top'.

Brown reportedly voiced concern over Portelli's negative statements about The Block host Scott Cam.

A source told New Idea magazine that the famed TV vet was not a fan of the high-flying billionaire's 'flashy' style and did not like his negative comments about rival show The Block and its host, Scott Cam.

'Chris has a strong reputation and is protective of it,' the source said.
'If there's negative press, of course, he'd be mindful of how that reflects on the show - and on him,' they said.

The controversial LMCT+ billionaire attacked Channel Nine last year, accusing them of undervaluing his contribution after the big spender dropped a whopping $12 million on the 2024 Block auctions.

And last August, Portelli attacked Cam online, branding him a 'clown' just weeks before My Reno Rules was scheduled to go before the cameras.

According to the insider, the host and the sponsor were entirely professional when performing their on-air duties, but it was obvious to the cast and crew that there was strong tension between the pair.

Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Seven, Adrian Portelli and Chris Brown for comment.

Hyped as a rival to Channel Nine's The Block, the My Reno Rules format sees four teams of renovators revamp two rundown properties in Melbourne.

Portelli will give away the completed houses, which are planned as luxury multi-level properties with glorious views of Melbourne's skyline.

The judges include design guru Neale Whitaker, founder of real estate buyers' agency Cohen Handler, Simon Cohen, and interior stylist Julia Green.

The winners will walk away with $1 million while the runners-up will pocket $250,000.

Meanwhile, after months of teasers and Portelli's own heavy promotion via his social media, My Reno Rules was soundly beaten in the ratings by Nine's Travel Guides when it premiered last week.

Scoring an average national total audience of 638,000 viewers, MRR was no match for Nine's reliably popular long-running hit, which premiered its seventh season on the same night.

The show about everyday Aussie globe-trotters pulled in an impressive national average audience of 1,025,000.

It's a disappointing result for MRR after its troubled production made headlines last year. Just weeks after the show was announced, a builder walked off the set.

Known as 'Mr Lambo', Portelli has continually used social media to promote himself as one of the 'faces' of the series.

According to a statement released by Seven last month, part of Portelli's role will be to 'manage' the show's 'live prize draw'.
