Former tennis star Anna Kournikova is gearing up for 'chaos' as she and husband Enrique Iglesias get ready for the arrival of their fourth child together.

The 44-year-old Kournikova's pregnancy was confirmed back in September, months after sparking health fears when she was pictured in a wheelchair with her foot in a protective boot.

Kournikova has kept a low profile for years after bursting onto the scene in the world of tennis when she turned professional at just 14. But injuries derailed her career before she could fulfill her potential and she left the game when she was only 21.

Now, though, based in Miami with the Spanish singer Iglesias, they are gearing up for life to change significantly when they become a family of six.

A source close to the couple was quoted as saying by PEOPLE: 'They are so excited, and also spending time getting their other three kids ready.
'They are ready for change and controlled chaos. Anna and Enrique are happiest when they are home with their family.'

Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias have three kids: twins Lucy and Nicholas, 7, and Mary, 5.

Kournikova and Iglesias, who have never confirmed if they are married, have three young children already in twins Lucy and Nicholas, 7, and daughter Mary, who is five.

Earlier this week, Kournikova was pictured out on a coffee run in Miami in a rare public appearance. But amid her desire for privacy, Kournikova shared a rare post on social media last month.

She shared a picture of her kids getting into the spirit for Halloween with two of them dressed as a pumpkin, while she was dressed in a giant duck outfit.

Kournikova's tennis career ended amid a succession injuries, including stress fractures in her foot, which played into the concerns around her being pictured in a wheelchair back in January.

She was one of the most exciting prospects in the game when she became professional at 14.

She got as high as eighth in the world rankings but never won a Grand Slam singles title.

But in the doubles, she enjoyed greater success once she partnered up with Martinia Hingis. Together, they won the Australian Open doubles championship in 1999 and again in 2002.

She never officially confirmed that she had retired but her last game was in May 2003 when she was just 21 years old.

Kournikova met Iglesias on the set of the hitmaker's music video for 2001 single 'Escape'

Kournikova struggled badly with injuries during her tennis career and quit the game at age 21

Her path first crossed with husband Iglesias when they met on the set of the hitmaker's music video for his 2001 single 'Escape'.

While the 50-year-old Iglesias has been performing to his adoring fans on tour, tennis fans are only granted rare glimpses of Kournikova.

And even he has decided to keep a lower profile in recent times. In October, People reported as source as saying: 'He loves his fans and loves to tour, but as he has gotten older and become a parent, it has been harder for him to leave. He will never forsake his fans, but being a dad is very important to him.'
