On Saturday, June 21, the HGTV star, 47, shared a series of throwback photos on Instagram as she celebrated her son Crew's 7th birthday. In the first shot, Gaines' four other kids -- Emmie, 15, Duke, 16, Ella, 18, and Drake, 20 -- could be seen listening through her hospital room door before meeting their baby brother.
Another black-and-white shot shows Crew being born, as well as a sweet moment of Gaines holding her son while sitting in bed. Lastly, there's a photo of Crew in the center of all his siblings, wearing a onesie that reads, "And then there were five."
"Seven years ago today. Happy birthday to our beautiful little boy 🩵," Gaines wrote in her caption.
Back in April, the proud mom celebrated her 47th birthday surrounded by all of her favorite things thanks to her "little fairy daughter," Ella. Joanna, who shares her five children with her husband Chip Gaines, shared a video on her Instagram -- set to "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Disney's Cinderella -- showing off the set-up that her daughter surprised her with overnight.
Complete with flowers, sweet treats and drinks, Joanna praised all of her daughter's hard work in the caption.
"I went to bed at about midnight, and some time between 12-7am my little fairy daughter Ella waved her magic wand and did all of this for my birthday weekend.✨🧚✨," she wrote in her caption. "I woke up to my very favorite things on the table and a delicious breakfast that she made from scratch -- just the most beautiful setup. I want to sit here all weekend and just take it in. 🥹."
Speaking with PEOPLE this past January, Joanna shared that she's just loving watching her youngest son grow up.
"I just love watching him and how he moves throughout his day," she said. "He's always looking out the window, the first to notice something. He has the childlike faith like, 'If I just look, I'll find something.'"
She added, "A lot of us have that when we're younger, but then I feel like we stop expecting wonder because we're so busy. And he's just inspired me to live like he does."
While Joanna said she's still grappling with how quickly her older kids became young adults, having a little one around is a blessing.
"With my older kids I feel like it all went so fast," she said. "Having Crew makes me feel younger, and really anchors me. It's been such a gift."
