Jonathan Ross, the 64-year-old TV presenter known for his celebrity chat shows, is set to take on a new and eerie television series that's a far cry from his usual star-studded interviews. Ross, who hosted Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in the 2000s and early 10s before moving on to The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV, has interviewed some of the world's biggest stars, including Stormzy, Jamie Foxx, Lewis Capaldi, David Attenborough, Hugh Grant, Sir Paul McCartney and many more.

He's also been a familiar face on shows like The Big Narstie Show, The Masked Singer UK as a judge, The Big Fat Quiz, The Masked Dancer UK, and numerous panel shows. Now, he's trading in the chat and panel shows for something a bit more spooky.

In his new show, Jonathan Ross: Haunted Homecoming, Ross will revisit his childhood home where he once experienced a paranormal event in his parents' cellar. Filming has reportedly wrapped up, with scenes even shot in Epping Forest.

"A spooky and reflective journey as Jonathan revisits places from his youth," teases the show's synopsis. "Uncovering their ghostly secrets offers fans a unique glimpse into the haunted past of East London where he was born and raised."

Haunted Homecoming is set to air on Discovery+ on December 20. Promotional pictures shared on his page show Ross posing in a graveyard alongside writer and paranormal historian Kate Cherrell and TV presenter Ian Lawman.

Fans have expressed their excitement about the announcement in the comment section:

  • "Waiting patiently now... joking when is it out?" commented one eager fan.
  • An admirer shared their enthusiasm: "I really liked Johnathan's C4 ghosty series last year or whenever it was. Was light-hearted when it needed to be but wasn't taking the micky. Could tell he had a genuine interest."
  • "Can't wait!" chimed another excitedly.

Jonathan Ross is known for celebrating all things eerie and supernatural with grand Halloween bashes. Coming out of a Halloween hiatus caused by the pandemic and his daughter Betty's battle with fibromyalgia, Jonathan's Hampstead abode was once again decked out in frightening finery.

This year saw no glittering parade of stars at his event; instead, Jonathan focused on delighting local trick-or-treaters rather than entertaining celebrity guests by decking out his luxurious home in Hampstead with an array of spine-chilling decorations.
