KANSAS CITY (Jan. 15, 2026) - The Kansas City Current announced its full schedule for the 2026 regular season on Thursday in conjunction with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The Current will play 30 regular season matches this year following the addition of two new NWSL clubs with 15 of those being held at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium in the world purpose-built for a professional women's sports team.

Current Club Members will receive early access to purchase single match tickets and new multi-match mini packs for the 2026 regular season beginning Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. CT. Single match tickets, parking and mini packs will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. CT.

The Kansas City Current kicks off the 2026 regular season at home against the Utah Royals at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 14 - nearly two years to the date of the inaugural match played at CPKC Stadium.

The NWSL Challenge Cup, presented by e.l.f., will feature the 2025 NWSL Shield winner Kansas City Current and 2025 NWSL champion Gotham FC. The Challenge Cup is set for Friday, June 26, at 7 p.m. CT in Columbus, Ohio, at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field. The match will be available to stream live on Prime. Additional details, including ticket information, will be announced at a later date.

Following the conclusion of the regular season on Nov. 1, the quarterfinals of the 2026 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel, will be held Nov. 6-8 before the semifinals on Nov. 14-15. The 2026 NWSL Championship, presented by Google Pixel, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, at a to-be-determined site.

Additionally, the Current will host the second annual Teal Rising Cup on Thursday, April 9, and Sunday, April 12, at CPKC Stadium. Opponents, kickoff times, broadcast information and ticket information for the Teal Rising Cup will be announced at a later date.

Below is the Kansas City Current's 2026 NWSL regular season schedule. All times listed below are Central Time, and all home matches will be played at CPKC Stadium. Dates, times and broadcast information are subject to change.

The KC Current embarks on 2026 preseason training after one of the best regular seasons in NWSL history this past year. The club made history on Sept. 20 by winning the 2025 NWSL Shield, presented by CarMax, following its 2-0 win over Seattle Reign FC at CPKC Stadium. It was the first time in franchise history the Current won the Shield, which is awarded to the club with the best record during the regular season. Kansas City became the fastest club to win the Shield in NWSL history, doing so with five regular season games left.

In addition to winning the Shield, Kansas City set several NWSL records during the 2025 regular season, including points (65), wins (21), consecutive wins (9), home wins (11), road wins (9), shutouts (16), consecutive shutouts (9), consecutive shutout minutes (869), shutouts at home (8), multi-goal games (18), multi-goal wins (15), fewest goals conceded (13) and fewest minutes trailing (109).

The 2026 season marks the first under the direction of head coach Chris Armas, who was officially appointed to the position on Jan. 7.
