Kimberly Williams-Paisley is reflecting on how Diane Keaton supported her early in her career.

The 54-year-old actress worked with the late icon, who died on October 11 at age 79, on the movie Father of the Bride and its sequel in the early 90s.

Williams-Paisley appeared on Friday's episode of Call It What It Is podcast with hosts Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington and opened up about working with Keaton.

She said she counted the Annie Hall star as one of her idols and added that the Oscar-winner 'more than lived up to it.'

Williams-Paisley played Keaton's onscreen daughter Annie Banks in the two films, which also starred Steven Martin.

'She was just so generous, and so funny, and wise. Just wonderful,' the movie star recalled.

She said they 'really bonded' and 'just laughed' while working on Father of the Bride Part II in 1995, which saw both of their characters pregnant.

'The humor clicked, and it was so fun to be on set when she was on set,' the younger actress said.

When asked if there was anything in particular Williams-Paisley learned from Keaton, she answered, 'I remember I had a lot of anxiety during those two movies.'

'I mean, I was 19 on the first one. It was the first major role I had. And Diane was like a mother figure to me who was very safe. I talked to her about my anxiety.'

Her anxiety was so intense that in spilled into her home life, affecting her sleep.

'I had a lot of dreams. I'm a big dreamer, literally, but I would have weird nightmares. I think it was me working out my anxiety in the middle of the night, and she would analyze dreams with me,' she revealed of her beloved costar.

She described Keaton as a 'kind, listening ear' and said the legendary performer 'didn't have easy answers.'

'Sometimes it just helps to talk to someone who's been through it too, you know?' she said.

In addition to sharing her wisdom, the 9-1-1: Nashville star said Diane gifted her a small lapel pin.

Keaton died of bacterial pneumonia on October 11 in California, leaving behind her two adult-aged adopted children.

Shortly after her shock death, Williams-Paisley told People, 'It's really one of the best memories I'll ever have in my life, getting to work with Diane.'

'I was such a huge fan growing up. I'd seen Annie Hall; I'd seen The Godfather; I'd seen Baby Boom.'

'And just the idea that I was going to be in her presence was -- that's what I was most nervous about, but it was just, wow, Diane Keaton,' she shared.

Right before meeting the silver screen star, Williams-Paisley said she heard her laughter from a distance.

'To hear her laughter before anything, before even meeting her, was just such a great omen. It was an auspicious beginning to a great relationship,' she looked back.
