Last Oner Laughing is heading back to screens sooner than fans think - as the show will have a Halloween special with a devilish new rule in play.

Hosted by Jimmy Carr, the premise sees a group of comedians put together in close quarters for six hours, all while trying to make each other laugh or smile.

The last remaining competitor who hasn't cracked is declared the winner after outlasting everyone else.

Series two concluded earlier this month - featuring Romesh Ranganathan, Alan Carr, David Mitchell and returning series one winner Bob Mortimer, to name a few.

In a format twist, a Halloween Special titled Last One Laughing: Don't Laugh, Don't Scream will drop later this year.

This time around, as well as laughing or smiling, contestants will also receive yellow and red cards for screaming.

Last One Laughing UK series two ended last month - and the hit show will be back sooner than fans think

Bob Mortimer won series one and came back to defend the title - against a whole new group of fellow comedians

Furthermore, a third regular series of Last One Laughing UK will be launching on the streaming platform in 2027.

It comes as viewers were left fuming over the 'harsh' finale twist as the series two winner was crowned after a tie-breaker in a show first.

The last episode of the second series was released to viewers saw Mel Giedroyc, Bob Mortimer, Sam Campbell and David Mitchell left battling it out for the Last One Laughing trophy.

With the clock ticking down to the last 40 minutes, host Jimmy Carr revealed that the game would go down to sudden death, with any laughing or smiling provoking an immediate red card seeing the offending comic out of the game.

Reigning champion Bob, 66, managed to wipe out Mel, 57, with a tense head-to-head that saw them having to make animal noises while looking into one another's eyes.

Then, Peep Show star David, 51, knocked out Bob with a joke about re-naming a night time toilet trip a 'Chadwick' - with David exclaiming: 'I was just chadwicking!'

It left Sam, 34, and David to go head-to-head in one final challenge, feeding each other food from a gold tray while looking at each other.

Host Jimmy revealed that if neither of them laughed during the uncomfortable exchange, then the winner would be decided in a tie-break of who had caused the most laughs on the show through the episodes.

Flashbacks showed Sam making Bob laugh by picking him up off the ground early in the series - but it also showcased David getting two laughs, one from Diane Morgan and another from Bob.

Jimmy crowned David the winner, bringing in the comedians who were out of the competition to hand him the coveted Last One Laughing trophy.

Fans of Prime Video's Last One Laughing were left fuming over the 'harsh' finale twist as the series two winner was crowned after a tie-breaker between Sam Campbell and David Mitchell

David reacted: 'That was quite insane because I think we disappeared into a place where there was no laughter.
'I have to say, for all the bleakness at the end, I am delighted to win, and I think that shows a want of character in me, but I was very pleased.'

While David was overjoyed to take home the win, fans at home were less than impressed with the way that the end of the show was decided.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans hit out against the tie-breaker, hitting out that it was 'anti-climactic' and would have like to have seen another head-to-head game.

One penned: 'For season 3 they got to think of a better tiebreaker that ending was so anti climatic it stank.'

Another chimed in: 'Just watched Last One Laughing final and although I love David the correct winner was Sam,' as a third added: 'Dave smiled SO many times, Sam never broke once.'
