The pop superstar admitted she was in her 30s when she lost her virginity, calling herself a "late bloomer."

Lizzo is opening up about the surprising way she prioritized her music career over her sex life.

The music superstar stopped by the "Friends Keep Secrets" video podcast this week, where she revealed that she was in her 30s when she lost her virginity.

"I was a late bloomer. I lied about it for a long time," Lizzo explained to hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. "I just promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn't have sex until I won a Grammy."

Lizzo was 31 when she won her first Grammy in 2020. She picked up a total of three awards that night: Best Urban Contemporary Album for the deluxe version of "Cuz I Love You," Best Pop Solo Performance for her smash single "Truth Hurts," and Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song "Jerome."

When Lil Dicky joked that the 2020 Grammy Awards -- held on Jan. 26 -- was "definitely the best night of your life," Lizzo clarified that she didn't actually lose her virginity on the night of the ceremony, but shortly thereafter.

Noting that she felt "a weight off of my chest" after making the revelation, the singer also recalled her days at the University of Houston, where she'd often attempt to dodge the truth about her lack of a sex life while out with friends.

"We were all girling one night, and it was like, 'Wait, Lizzo, are you a virgin?' And I remember being like, 'No!'" she said. "I remember it was so embarrassing. I said, 'I love the D'... And it held me over for a little while."

Elsewhere in the chat, Lizzo shared that she had her first kiss at 21, after she and other teens at her church had pledged not to "do anything before marriage."

At first, "nobody wanted to kiss me," she lamented. And when somebody finally did, the experience was "terrible."

"I was actually very upset about it, because it was like a New Year's Eve thing, and he like forced it on me," she recalled. "I was really mad, and I was like, 'My first kiss is ruined.' I was so mad."

Lizzo, now 37, didn't share details of her past romantic partners. In April 2022, she confirmed her relationship with actor-comedian Myke Wright during an interview with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show. The pair had been romantically linked in the media for several months by that point.

Speaking to Howard Stern in December of that year, she acknowledged being "very much in love with" Wright, whom she met in 2016 while co-hosting the MTV music series "Wonderland."

"In the past, we were friends ... when the time was right, we came together," she said. "We're not playing any games with each other anymore. We're very much locked in. There's nobody else I'm going to be with for the rest of my life."

"Friends Keep Secrets," which debuted in February, is billed as "an intimate hang" that showcases its hosts' "real-life friendships" with guests like Gwyneth Paltrow and Ed Sheeran, that is equal parts "podcast, livestream, and sitcom."

Much of the show's early buzz has emphasized some of its eyebrow-raising unscripted moments. On the premiere episode, Blanco propped his legs up on a sofa, revealing his bare feet to be covered in dirt, and later, audibly farted.

In an auspiciously timed move, Blanco's wife, Selena Gomez, kissed his foot on-camera during the following week's episode, drawing some amusing responses online.
