Married At First Sight groom Scott McCristal's romance reveal has sparked a frenzy among fans - with many convinced the reality star has a very obvious type.

Just one day after Daily Mail exclusively revealed Scott had gone public with his Gold Coast registered nurse girlfriend Brienna Stockdale, social media users flooded the comments section with brutally honest reactions.

And while some were thrilled to see the controversial groom moving on, others could not help but point out striking similarities between Brienna and Scott's ex-TV bride Gia Fleur.

During his candid interview with Daily Mail, Scott gushed over his new romance and made it abundantly clear he believed this relationship was worlds apart from his turbulent MAFS experience - which is why they complemented each other so well.

'We're so aligned it works well. Trust, respect, gratefulness - the politeness I get, and just the understanding of Bree,' he said.
'She gets up at 5am and we go to the gym together. She's got f*ing high energy, like me - we don't slow down, we kind of drive each other more.'

Scott was so smitten that he even accidentally referred to Brienna as his 'wife' before quickly correcting himself to 'girlfriend.'

The revealing slip amused readers - but it was the public reaction that truly stole the spotlight.

Fans were quick to zero in on Brienna's glamorous appearance, with many suggesting Scott had simply traded one version of his former bride for another.

'Love Scott but so funny he has a type... implanted,' one fan wrote in the most-liked comment.
'Omg it's a darker hair version paper cut out of Gia,' another added.
'They almost look identical, her and Gia,' one person observed.

Others were even more blunt.

'He obviously likes the women with bolt ons,' a person sniped.

Meanwhile, others posted a series of cheeky comments, including 'Plastic fantastic', 'Dude loves plastic,' and 'Definitely he goes for the Botox ones - big time.'

The irony was not lost on many, with Scott himself revealing Brienna had actually done his Botox before he entered the MAFS experiment.

'She did my Botox before I went on the show,' he admitted, explaining their connection began before filming.

After reconnecting earlier this year, Scott orchestrated what he jokingly described as a 'subtle lay-in' by messaging Brienna about skincare products at her clinic.

A wholesome first date at Tallebudgera Creek, involving paddleboarding and dinner, quickly blossomed into a full-fledged romance.

For Scott, Brienna seemed to embody everything he said he wanted after his messy MAFS split.

'Opposite to Gia,' he said when asked what he was looking for in a partner.
'Someone who's trustworthy, loyal, doesn't lie. Ambitious, driven - happy on her own, doesn't need a man to support her.'

Still, many followers remained sceptical.

'Scott, have you not learned anything? You have swapped blonde for brunette,' one commenter wrote.
'He's doing a great job breaking the cycle. Gotta love the Gold Coast,' another joked.
'She's another Gia - you can tell by the look of her,' one fan claimed.

Despite the criticism, Scott also received plenty of support from loyal followers who simply hoped he had finally found happiness.

Scott himself made it clear he has no intention of hiding his new relationship.

'I want to be able to show my girlfriend because I'm proud of her; I'm proud of the relationship I have,' he said.
'Why hide something when it's something good to show everyone?'
