MAFS UK reunion special SPOILER: Davide breaks down

The Married At First Sight reunion special will see some dramatic scenes on Sunday night as Davide Anica and Keye Luke will come face to face after the difficult breakdown of their relationship.

The same-sex couple, widely regarded as the strongest pair in this year's series, had committed to each other at the season's Final Vows ceremony.

However, fans of the E4 dating show were shocked late last year when The Daily Mail revealed the pair have since gone their separate ways.

Soon after Keye, 33, took to his Instagram to publicly admit that their relationship crumbled after he created a Grindr profile - a mistake he explained has 'cost me my marriage'.

He insisted he had made the decision because he'd been in a 'dark and fragile place' and looking to cope, not because he was seeking to meet someone else.

A few weeks later Davide then appeared to soft launch his new boyfriend in an Instagram video, which saw the pair cosy up together in a jacuzzi.

With much to unpack between the pair it seems, the reunion looks to be tense as they hash out all the ups and downs of the past few month.

A teaser clip shows Davide saying: 'I did everything I could to support Keye when he was at his lowest, it was a lot for me to carry. I can't carry him and myself.'

Turning to his former partner he says: 'I think both me and you put in the work. We tried to make it work every day but when push came to shove I was extremely exhausted.

'I thought that what we had was real. But we became different people once we came out and it just ended badly. I wasn't good for you or enough for you on the outside world.'

He then replied: 'Yes you were...' as they both started crying at the table.

Last year Keye confessed that he had downloaded the dating app while flight attendant Davide had been away working.

However, Keye acknowledged there was no excuse for his actions and took accountability for causing the marriage to breakdown.

He wrote: 'This is incredibly difficult to share, but I have always believed in being honest, even when it is uncomfortable.'

'In the early hours of a Sunday morning, while Davide was on a flight, I downloaded Grindr.'

He added: 'None of this excuses my actions. I understand how it looked and I understand why it hurt. Even without sexual intentions, I crossed a line and broke trust.'

'I hate that Davide believed I was looking for someone else, because that was never the truth. But I fully accept the impact.'

'When Davide found my profile through his, it cost me my marriage. That is something I carry with me every day.'

Keye confessed he was 'devastated' to have hurt Davide and insisted that what they had in the experiment and after had been 'real', adding that his ex 'deserves the absolute best'.

While he explained that he had since been in therapy, working to find ways to cope that didn't see him returning to destructive behaviours that hurt him or others, concluding that he wanted to move forward with 'honesty and growth'.

He penned: 'I have nothing but love for him. What we shared was real; both in the experiment and in the months after. He deserves the absolute best, and I am devastated that my choices caused him pain.

'Since then, I have been doing the work; therapy, accountability, and learning healthier ways to cope, so I never return to destructive patterns. It has not been easy, but it has been necessary.

'Looking back, I see how lost I was. The emotions are still raw, but I am learning to face them without running, numbing, or repeating the behaviours that hurt others and myself.

'Now is not the time to unpack our relationship. What matters is acknowledging the truth, the love, the mistakes, and choosing to move forward with honesty and growth.'

Hours after Keye's candid post, Davide responded to the news of their split being made public, as he admitted he was 'deeply hurt and shocked' after finding Keye's Grindr profile.

Davide confessed that he'd had a 'gut feeling' that something was wrong and created a profile of his own to see if Keye was on the app, describing the 'painful' moment he confirmed his suspicions.

He said he 'simply could not overcome' the breach of trust in the relationship, but stressed that he didn't regret his time on the show and held 'no bitterness towards Keye'.

In a statement to The Sun, he said: 'The night in question, I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. Out of my own insecurity I created a profile on Grindr to check whether Keye was on the app only to find that my gut feeling was correct.

'That moment was painful and it made the trust between us break in a way I couldn't move past. That's why when it was broken, it was something I simply could not overcome.

'I won't lie I was deeply hurt and shocked but with time, I've healed and found peace.'
