Controversial royal reporter Omid Scobie has unveiled his first-ever novel on social media - but the title appears backwards thanks to an inverted video camera.
Omid, 44, previously penned two explosive biographies about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Finding Freedom and Endgame, which contained inner circle details that saw him dubbed 'Harry and Meghan's mouthpiece'.
Co-written with US young adult fiction author Robin Benway, Royal Spin tells the story of a young American woman called Lauren Morgan, who ditches her press role at the White House for one at Buckingham Palace.
The character then enters 'a hotbed of office politics where tradition (almost) always wins', with the book described as a 'fun, fish-out-of-water romantic workplace comedy'.
Royal Spin is Omid's first venture into fiction - with the love triangle tale featuring a 'very handsome Duke' who gets a 'PR makeover' as Lauren's first project.
The book is published by Sphere Fiction following a 'hotly contested' auction that resulted in a lucrative six-figure sum.
Speaking to his 51,000 followers, Omid excitedly held a large brown box close to the camera as he looked at his new book for the first time.
'Right, I am a sweaty mess right now, but I just got home from the gym and there were four boxed outside my house - and I\'m 99% sure they are the final retail copies of my next book, Royal Spin,' he said.

'As some of you may know, as authors we don't get to see the final copy until very close to launch. We get these things called galley copies, which are cheaper, lower-quality paperbacks that get sent out to retailers, reviewers and things like that.
'But the actual retail copies we don't see until the very last minute. I thought we'd check them out together.'
Taking a copy out of the box, Omid appears pleased with the end result, calling the covers 'nice and bright', though acknowledges the writing might appear inverted because of his video camera.
'That's probably the wrong way round, I don't know how to flip the camera. but there she is,' he laughs.
Omid goes on to explain his 'fun, first novel' revolves around female protagonist Lauren Morgan, who becomes involved in a love triangle with a royal reporter named Oscar and Jasper, the Duke of Exeter.
'He's just moved back to the UK, hoping to start a new life as a working member of the Royal Family, which is something he has never done before,' explains Omid.
The writer went on to explain that the project was a welcome break from 'a crazy and chaotic number of years covering the royals' and said he and Benway had 'both really enjoyed' working on the book.
Royal Spin is due to be published on February 11 in the UK.
Omid was at the centre of a huge royal race row in November 2023 when the Dutch translation of his book Endgame named two royals who were said to have asked what colour skin Prince Archie would have before he was born.
Last year it was reported Universal Television was also developing a series based on the book, with Omid serving as writer, co-creator and executive producer.
Benway will also serve as executive producer, alongside showrunner Emily Fox.

The author is said to be close to Harry and Meghan and also co-authored the 2020 book Finding Freedom, a biography of the Sussexes which chronicled the couple in glowing terms.
