Nineties pop icon Lee Brennan has surprised fans by announcing a major career move.

The former singer, who fronted chart sensations 911, has revealed after a period of intensive studying, he is now a 'certified Transformative Life Coach'.

Lee, 51, posted a selfie on Instagram and proudly clutched his certificate as he showed off his achievement.

He captioned the post: 'Lots of late nights studying and lots of tea and coffee. I've always been obsessed with our minds, thoughts, feelings and wanting to understand my own crazy brain more.
'Transformative life coaching is like a guide for rewiring your inner compass. I'm not a therapist, it's not counselling and I'm not here to fix you, because you're not broken!
'My job is to help you dig deep, shift old mindsets, and tap into the clarity and strength that's already inside you.'

The announcement has delighted fans and friends including former S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara and Hollyoaks alum Steph Waring, who has also retrained as a life coach. 'Welcome to the club,' she commented.

Lee shot to fame in 1995 when he teamed up with Jimmy Constable and Spike Dawbarn to form 911.

Within months they were touring the world and selling millions of records. Their run of ten consecutive UK Top 10 singles included Bodyshakin', Private Number and a 1999 number one, a cover of A Little Bit More.

By the turn of the millennium they had sold over 10 million singles and become one of Britain's most successful homegrown boy bands.

However, the trio called it quits in February 2000, saying they wanted to bow out on a high.

Lee, who had twice beaten Hodgkin's lymphoma as a child and was left infertile by treatment, later admitted he struggled with life after the screaming crowds disappeared.

He turned his hand to acting, appearing in pantomimes including Peter Pan and Cinderella, and even dabbled in radio.

In 2006 he married Lindsay Armaou of fellow pop favourites B*Witched, but the marriage ended in divorce five years later.

Lee began to focus on work outside of the spotlight during the Covid pandemic.

In 2021, he revealed he had retrained as a personal trainer and nutrition coach, describing the move on social media as 'exciting times ahead!'.

A year later he launched an online business called Mr Bodyshaper, combining fitness and wellbeing coaching.

Lee is not the only Nineties star to take a surprising turn. Hannah Spearritt from S Club 7 traded her pop career for farming in Costa Rica, while Steph Waring, who was axed from Hollyoaks last year after nearly three decades, is also offering guidance as a life coach.

Lee is currently dating lawyer and public speaker Tobi-Jayne Cadbury, with whom he has been spotted at industry events, including the premiere of the Boyzone documentary earlier this year.
