GREAT BARRINGTON -- At a high school Nordic ski race at Ski Butternut Tuesday night, The Mount Greylock boys and girls fended off all challengers in the team results.
The Greylock girls were dominant behind junior star Lauren Miller, who closed out her individual win in 19 minutes, 28 seconds. Her closest competitor was teammate Josephine Bay in 19:56.
Greylock had five skiers in the top-10, with Bridget Holland and Rachel Miller landing sixth and seventh, respectively, and Maya Filson 10th.
The Mounties amassed just 16 points to outpace runner-up Lenox's 36.
The Millionaires were led by Jane Elliot in fourth overall, while Wahconah's Megan Tucker was eighth and Lenox's Catherine Welch ninth.
The boys race was a bit tighter courtesy of individual victor Beau Sanders of Wahconah.
Sanders put together a run of 15:29 and a commanding lead on the podium. Greylock logged the next two finishers with Benjamin Mandel second in 15:57 and Patrick Holland third in 16:02.
The Mounties snuck in a third finisher with Andrew Holland fifth, ahead of Wahconah's Owen Tucker in sixth. Ultimately, the Mounties held off the Warriors 22-32.
Lenox was in the mix as well finishing third with 39 points. the Millionaires had Everett Shepardson seventh and Williams Keefe eighth.
Wahconah's Chris Hyatt rounded out the top-10 in 10th.
The high school Nordic season is set to continue Saturday, though the meet has been moved from Notchview Reservation up north to Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt. Saturday's meet will start at 9 a.m.
