The full moon will arrive in the United States on Tuesday, Oct. 7, per NASA.
As we prepare to bundle up for the colder months, it's time to tap into your inner strength and welcome October's full moon, known as the Hunter's Moon.
Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, who is known for his cosmic guidance among celebrities, businesses and online influencers, spoke to "Good Morning America" about the best ways to take advantage of this bold and adventurous full moon.
But first, let's break down the meaning of the Hunter's Moon.
The full moon will reach peak illumination in the United States on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, according to NASA.
This year's October full moon, known as the Hunter's Moon, will also shine as a powerful supermoon.
A supermoon occurs when the moon reaches the closest point in its orbit to Earth, making it appear bigger, brighter and more radiant than a typical full moon.
According to NASA, this Hunter's Moon kicks off a rare series of three consecutive autumn supermoons, promising an especially striking night sky.
The Old Farmer's Almanac, which began publishing full moon names in the 1930s, explains that the October full moon became known as the "Hunter's Moon" because it signaled the start of hunting season and served as a cue for hunters to prepare for the colder months ahead.
According to the Almanac, after the fields were cleared during the harvest moon -- the full moon that precedes the Hunter's Moon -- animals would venture out to scavenge the remaining crops, making it easier for hunters to spot game such as deer and the foxes that stalked them.
The October full moon has also been called the sanguine moon or blood moon, a nod to either the hunting season or the deep red hues of autumn leaves, the publication noted.
Thomas added that this year, the Hunter's Moon will also be known as the harvest moon, since it is the full moon that falls closest to the Autumn Equinox.
"The hunter's moon was very important for Native American tribes and colonial farmers because it signaled the period in the year when it was crucial to gather meat to prepare for the winter months," he said. "Because the harvests were usually reaped in late September or early October, now it was much easier to see deer, fox and other animal game."
The zodiac sign of each full moon is determined by where the moon sits in the night sky in relation to the astrological wheel. Because the moon's position changes every year, each Hunter's Moon carries its own unique influence, Thomas explained.
This year, the Hunter'sMoon rises in Aries, a fiery sign that Thomas said "will bring momentum, enthusiasm and passion to our lives."
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries sparks courage and inspires bold action.
"Aries' energy is fiery, confident and adventurous and focuses us on our innermost desires," Thomas added. "Ruled by Mars, Aries is dominant, assertive and a leader -- encouraging us to embrace what makes us unique and different."
Throughout history, many cultures and spiritual traditions have honored the power of celestial cycles, especially the full moon. Astrologers often see this lunar phase as a potent time to set intentions and manifest your dreams.
Because Aries is a fire sign, astrologer Thomas recommends incorporating elements of flame or smoke such as lighting candles or burning sage into your rituals.
"However, you can also use physical action to harness your energy, whether in the form of moving around, dancing, walking," Thomas explained, adding that the fire signs "are dynamic and passionate, so engaging with this energy will be ideal."
"Some examples of this would be setting your mind around a specific goal or intention and then repeating an action, knowing that each time you do it, you are closer to manifesting your plan," he said.
Potential meditations, mantras or journal prompts:
"A dearly held goal, project or dream that you've been building toward for six months or so could now be within reach," Thomas said. "Assert yourself and show the world that you are ready to revel in your victories."
