Rapper Offset was hospitalized after a shooting outside Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in Florida. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

One week after rap superstar Offset was shot near a casino in South Florida, federal authorities are sharing new details on the incident.

In a press release shared Tuesday, April 14, the FBI announced it is enlisting the public's help in identifying the people who allegedly attacked Offset outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6.

The 34-year-old Migos cofounder, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot during an incident that occurred in a valet area, the Seminole Police Department previously confirmed to USA TODAY. After sustaining "non-life-threatening injuries," Offset was transported to a nearby hospital.

While suspects have yet to be officially identified, the FBI said that a "large group of subjects assaulted" the rapper, who was alone at the time. One individual from the group allegedly "produced a handgun and fired a single shot, which struck" Offset.

Federal authorities added that the group attempted to steal Offset's watch after the shooting, although the jewelry was not taken.

Offset's alleged assailants then fled the scene in two Chevrolet SUVs, per the FBI. One vehicle is a matte gray Tahoe, while the other is a black Suburban.

The black car allegedly drove toward Hollywood, Florida, authorities noted, and the Tahoe fled southbound toward Miami. The FBI released surveillance photos of both the vehicles and the alleged suspects.

As part of the investigation, rapper Lil Tjay, who previously had a social media feud with Offset, was arrested "in connection with the incident" and booked into Broward County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license, Seminole Police Department previously confirmed to USA TODAY.

Lil Tjay's lawyer criticized "false rumors" that he was involved in the shooting, saying he has not been charged in the case.

Offset breaks silence after Florida shooting

Four days after the shooting, Offset addressed the incident in a letter shared on Instagram.

"Thank you to everyone who's checked in on me and showed me love!" the rapper wrote. "I'm good... but I'm planning to be better!"

Offset has six children, three of whom he shares with former partner Cardi B: Kulture, 7; Wave, 4; and Blossom, 1. The on-again-off-again couple married in 2017 and initiated divorce proceedings in 2024.

"I'm focused on my family, my recovery and getting back to the music...realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses," Offset continued. "Life's a gamble, and I'm still playing to win."
