A passenger's flight didn't go as planned when a flight attendant scolded her for bringing her knitting needles aboard.

Brittany (@brittstitches), a TikToker who shares her knitting and embroidery online, shared a video of the controversial treatment she received on a flight.

She posted a video of her knitting bag under her seat and wrote, 'staring at my knitting in jail because the flight attendant told me to put it away after telling me "to think about if I would really want to be holding needles if there was an emergency."'

Brittany added that the experience was 'a first' for her and that she didn't get to finish knitting her sock on the flight.

The video sparked a debate in the comments, with some sharing in Brittany's frustration and others pointing out that the flight attendant was right to be concerned about needles when turbulence could occur.

'What? I knit on every flight I would be so annoyed,' one comment read.
'Girl that flight attendant was just on a power trip you definitely could’ve kept knitting,' another wrote.
'They literally serve boiling beverages and meals to be eaten on a lap tray which is a threat even outside of a plane related emergency,' a third pointed out.

Brittany posted a photo on TikTok of her knitting bag sitting 'in jail' after the flight attendant warned her of having needles during a potential emergency.

'I’d ask why she has so little confidence in your flight today,' a fourth questioned.

In response to the comment, Brittany noted, 'It honestly made me even more nervous about our flight than I already was and I couldn't then knit to calm my anxiety.'

However, others took the flight attendant's side, with one arguing, 'She's just doing her job why do ppl on the internet want to villainize everyone.'

'Idk why people are against this, the flight attendant was fully right for this,' another agreed.

Even though some argued that knitting needles present a danger on a flight, the Transportation Security Administration allows them onboard.

Knitting needles can be brought in carry-ons and need to be securely wrapped if packed in a checked bag to protect baggage handlers from injury.

Sewing needles can also be brought on carry-on and checked bags; however, needlepoint tools aren't allowed on board.

Circular thread cutters or any other tools that contain a blade are also not allowed on carry-ons. Passengers can bring scissors on board, but they must be smaller than four inches.

The story divided social media users, with some saying that the flight attendant was on a 'power trip,' while others argued that the TikToker shouldn't have had needles on a plane.

Another flight passenger recently sparked debate online when they were asked by a flight attendant to move their seat so a family could sit together.

The traveler explained in a Reddit post that after deliberately purchasing a seat next to the window, a flight attendant 'bullied' her to give it up for a family.

'They made me feel so bad that I actually went back and said "fine." I just felt so disgusted,' the passenger explained.
'I hate it when people do stuff like these and expect everyone to accommodate them!'

Some commenters believed the situation wasn't a big deal, while others blamed the flight attendant, writing, 'So because you were childless you had less right to the seat? I don't think so.'

'Their poor planning. You shouldn't rescue them. They could figure out seating arrangements without involving your seat,' another agreed.
