An aide to New York City's socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani exploded at airline staff in a series of entitled social media rants, it has been revealed.

Mathis Roy Vigne, an advance man for the new leader of the city, used his X profile to berate workers from various airlines, the Washington Free Beacon reports.

The complaints ranged from ranting about airline staff over his business class seats and lounge access and for allegedly failing to serve him a drink.

Vigne, who previously interned for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, handles publicity and events for Mamdani.

In one complaint dated December of 2019, he fumed at American Airlines for being denied lounge access after flying business class to Paris via New York City and Chicago.

Vigne unloaded on the airline's social media team after he was allegedly denied access to their flagship area inside Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

Vigne added: 'Why should I fly American ever again? Maybe it's [because] they did not like my face; [I don't know]. It's not right to treat customers this way.'

Another spat in April 2020 saw him lash out after being downgraded from business to economy on an Air France flight, he claimed in a post to X.

Mamdani, seen here in September of last year before becoming mayor, is flanked by Vigne who worked on his campaign and now handles his publicity.

Vigne said he was 'disgusted' by the customer service and told the airline 'you better fix this'.

In August of that year he boasted about his air travel status with the airline and moaned again at the company for having a 'rude and unhelpful' checking area agent.

'Why do you have to make everything feel like such a pain', Vigne said to the airline.

A month prior he publicly complained to SWISS after the airline allegedly failed to finish their beverage service on one of the flights he was on.

According to Vigne the lack of liquids left 'some [passengers] with a dry throat because they were late to start'.

He added: 'They also forced us to stow our tray tables without collecting our waste. You only get one chance at a good 1st impression.'

In December of 2020 he attacked Aer Lingus for only running one flight a day to Paris, despite the airline informing him they only did so due to Covid restrictions.

The airline responded to his original complaint saying they were socially distancing passengers on board after he claimed the flight was 'jammed pack'.

Dissatisfied with the response, Vigne said: 'Why not providing wellness kits with sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer to your passengers like many other airlines do?'

His hygiene concerns amid the pandemic extended into 2021 when he hit out at Qatar Airways for allowing a passenger next to him to board without wearing a mask.

Vigne called them out on social media, saying: 'Thank you for letting my neighbor spend the whole without her mask on. Thank god I got vaccinated before flying.'

In another post he again complained to SWISS about cleanliness about their boarding process, posting: 'They're still not boarding from the front to back.'

He also complained to the group that operates Paris Orly and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports over facemasks, lack of hand sanitizer, and the number of people in boarding areas.

According to his social media, Vigne graduated from Columbia University in New York City in May of 2024.

His LinkedIn showcases him working alongside a host of Democratic campaigns including Mamdani's race for mayor and for Kamala Harris's run for president.

He has been pictured alongside his new boss, as well as Ocasio-Cortez, who he interned with for three months in 2025.

The Daily Mail reached out to Vigne, the mayor's office, American Airlines, Swiss Air Lines, Air France, Aer Lingus and Qatar Airways.
