The Saturday Night Live alum, 51, announced on Tuesday, Aug. 19 via Instagram, that his family's Italian Greyhound had died.
"RIP to Frisbee, our OG IG who I was happy to go grey with," Meyers wrote. "She was at her best curled in your lap and patient when we dressed her up like a pilgrim. Thanks for 14 amazing years, girl."
Meyers included several photos of Frisbee throughout the years, including one of her as a puppy, as well as another photo of her lovingly licking Meyers' face.
Other photos included the Italian Greyhound in bed, enjoying a boat ride, and sitting by herself at the dinner table. Meyers also posted a photo of Frisbee dressed as a pilgrim while one of his children was dressed as a turkey.
Meyers shares Ashe Olson, 9, Axel Strahl, 7, and Adelaide Ruth, 3, with wife Alexi Ashe.
Before Frisbee's death, Meyers candidly discussed her declining health during the Tuesday, Aug. 5 episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast. "She's just really old," he told co-hosts Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and guests Will Forte and John Solomon. "She's not actively dying, but I would say that even a 7-year-old who's not a vet is like, 'Last days?'"
Other comedians, including Adam Pally and Ike Barinholtz, commented. "Oh no Sethy boy - may his memory be a blessing," Pally wrote, with Barinholtz adding, "RIP to my former scene partner. Love you pal xoxo."
Along with Meyers' friends sharing their support, many of his fans also offered kind words. However, other fans also remarked that Frisbee's death came one day after Samberg's 47th birthday.
Notably, Samberg has shared his playful dislike for the Meyers' dog throughout the years. He's developed such a reputation that fans have created YouTube compilations dedicated to his public comments about the dog.
"I'm sorry, Meyers fam. ❤️ . The collective love for her from the masses built a barrier Samberg's vitriol could never pierce," one user wrote.
Another commented, "We love you, Frisbee. Sending love to the Meyers family and glares to Andy Samberg." One user referenced a recent prank Meyers played on Samberg. "TOO SOON AFTER THAT SAMBERG EPISODE ON GOOD HANG:((( RIP Frisbee:((( so sorry for your loss."
In July, Samberg appeared on Poehler's Good Hang podcast, and Meyers asked Poehler, 53, to tell Samberg that Frisbee died. Once Poehler announced the "news," Samberg had a non-traditional answer and replied, "Don't even play, 'cause I'll be so happy."
He then continued, "I will never back off that. That dog sucks, dude. And I know this is a good vibes cast, so I don't even want to bring that energy, but that dog is like a rat carcass."
Months before Meyers' prank, he detailed Samberg's disdain for Frisbee during a Q&A session with his Late Night audience in April.
"He's hated my dog since she was little and now she's 14 years old," Meyers explained. "Here's a true thing he did: I sent our Christmas card -- Frisbee's in it every year -- he scratched out her face like a serial killer and mailed it back."
