Seth Rogen took home a major prize at 2025 Emmys for the first time!

The The Studio star, 43, was named Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the 77th annual ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 14.

"This is amazing. I so could not wrap my head around this happening that I literally prepared nothing. I've never won anything in my life," he shared on stage. "When I was a kid, I bought a youth bowling trophy and an estate sale, and my parents were like, 'Yeah, that's a good idea. You should probably buy that.'"
"Thank you to my wife, my mother, everyone who works on the show, my agents, my managers, the writers, everyone who guest starred on the show," he continued. "Thank you so much. This is really just so lovely. And I don't know, I don't know what to say. This is so nice. Thank you. I appreciate you all. Have a good one!"

Also up for the award were Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This, Jason Segel for Shrinking, Jeremy Allen White for The Bear and Martin Short for Only Murders in the Building.

Rogen, 43, created, wrote and directed The Studio with longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg. The comedian also stars in the Apple TV+ series as movie lover Matt Remick, the head of a fictional Hollywood movie studio under immense pressure.

Rogen told PEOPLE in March that the show, which has been renewed for a second season, was inspired by his love for movies and his thoughts on the industry as a whole.

"It really is just our perspective of all of it," he said. "I think we are constantly frustrated by Hollywood and disappointed in Hollywood and aggravated by it, but at the same time we see the magic."
"We are believers in the magic of the movies and we know nothing else," he added. "And so for us there is amazing potential in Hollywood; we just hope that it is used properly. But we love movies and the show itself was an opportunity to kind of bring that to life cinematically while telling these stories."

Rogen has been nominated for nine Emmys in the past. This year, he is nominated for his writing and directing in addition to the lead actor nod, and The Studio is also up for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Several of his costars were also nominated for their work on the show, including Ike Barinholtz, Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Bryan Cranston, Dave Franco, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, Martin Scorsese and Zoë Kravitz.

As for his fellow nominee Brody, he stars in Nobody Wants This as "the Hot Rabbi" Noah, who falls in love with Kristen Bell's agnostic sex podcaster Joanne. The debut season of the Netflix show was an instant hit and its second season is slated to premiere in October.

Brody opened up about the massive success during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year while at the Golden Globes First-time Nominees Luncheon. "I've gotten a lot of interesting stuff. My email is fuller than it was," he revealed.

In November, he addressed his on-screen chemistry with Bell while talking with PEOPLE: "I knew that we had something that worked, but I had no idea the sort of wide swath of people that would enjoy it. That has been an absolute pleasant surprise."

"I've been doing this a long time," he added. "So it's very gratifying and exciting."

This is Brody's first-ever Emmy nomination.

Segel, 45, is both the co-creator and the lead in the Apple TV+ dramedy Shrinking.

The show is about a grieving therapist named Jimmy (Segel) who "starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks," per the official logline. He stars alongside Harrison Ford, who plays Paul, another practicing therapist who is also navigating his Parkinson's Disease diagnosis.

Segel explained the "burden of responsibility" the cast and crew sometimes feel when handling such intense storylines during an interview with PEOPLE at a Shrinking FYC Event in May.

"We're dealing with mental health issues in addition to the Parkinson's [diagnosis] to try to get these things right," he shared. "And even where we get close to the line on things, we want the characters to acknowledge we're close to the line or that we've crossed a line so that everything is handled with care and responsibility."

This is Segel's third Emmy nomination -- he was previously nominated in the same category for playing Jimmy in 2023, and the show is nominated this year for Outstanding Comedy Series with Segel as executive producer. Ford as well as costars Jessica Williams and Michael Urie are also nominated for their work.

White, 34, has been nominated for this award three years in a row for his role in The Bear.

He plays Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, a fine dining chef running a Chicago sandwich shop previously owned by his late brother, in the FX hit. He won his first Emmy ever in 2023 for his lead role, and then took home the win again in 2024.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much," he said in his acceptance speech. "My heart is just beating outside of its chest."
"This show has changed my life," White added. "It has installed a faith that change is possible if you're able to reach out; you're really truly never alone. I thank this show."

In July 2025, The Bear was renewed for a fifth season.

Short, 75, plays one of the three main characters -- along with Steve Martin and Selena Gomez -- in Only Murders in the Building.

The murder mystery series first premiered in 2021 and is currently on its fifth season. Several of the cast members have gushed over the special energy on the set, which Short previously described to PEOPLE as “very, very, very loose” and “fun-filled.”

“I think everyone has the same review of that working on the show—that it’s really fun and loose,” he said. “And that’s kind of the philosophy of Steve, the way he’s always worked, and so is Selena.”
“Everyone works in joy and happiness because we’re lucky people,” Short noted.

The actor has won two Emmys and has been nominated 20 times throughout his career. At 75, he becomes the oldest winner in the Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series category, having beat out Eugene Levy who previously nabbed the title at 73.
