Strictly Come Dancing fans have called for Luba Mushtuk to be partnered with a woman in next year's competition. The dancer, 37, was partnered with DIY:SOS star Nick Knowles for this year's edition of the competition but he was eliminated in mid-October.
She teamed up with fellow professional Katya Jones, 35, as Becky Hill performed during Sunday night's results show and fans flooded social media with their reaction. One demanded: 'LET LUBA DANCE WITH A WOMAN NEXT YEAR PLEASE #strictly'
"Luba and Katya dancing together in pro dance," said a fan.
A third fan even noted that Luba could have taken the place of Carlos Gu for the upcoming Christmas special after he dropped out. This would have meant that she would have danced with reality star Vogue Williams in the festive one-off, instead of replacement Gorka Marquez.
"They could have easily put her in to replace Carlos for the Christmas special rather than have Vogue tower over Gorka," they wrote.
BRIT Award-winning star Becky Hill performed her track Indestructible just moments before TOWIE star Pete Wicks was eliminated. The reality star had been paired up with Jowita Przystał but they just missed out on a place in next week's final after being voted off during Sunday night's episode.
"It's been wild," said Pete when asked by host Tess Daly about his time in the competition. "I've been quite honest about the fact that I didn't necessarily want to do this [Strictly] in the first place, but everyone else wanted me to do it, and I am so glad that I did it! You don't always have to be the best, but if you enjoy something then why shouldn't you have a go at it?"
Pete and Jowita found themselves in the dance-off opposite Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec. Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all opted to save Tasha and her professional partner.
Head judge Shirley Ballas admitted she would also choose to save Tasha and Aljaž over Pete and Jowita.
Jowita expressed gratitude saying: "I just want to say thank you for the trust you gave me since day one. I know it wasn't easy, but your hard work was winning every week!"
The remaining couples battling it out for the Glitterball Trophy include comedian Chris McCausland with Dianne Buswell; JLS singer JB Gill with Lauren Oakley; and 'Miranda' star Sarah Hadland with Vito Coppola. They will each perform three dances: their favorite dance of the series, judge's pick, and a spectacular show dance at next week's Grand Final.
