Vicky Pattison has had a tough week at Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals after chipping her tooth and suffering a cut face.

The TV personality, 37, who is competing in this year's glitzy ballroom series with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, 30, revealed how she got injured as they practised a 'spicy lift.'

She also came down with an illness at the start of the week, forcing her to miss spin off show It Takes Two and then her dog, Max, accidentally scratched her face.

Sharing a photo of her bloodied face to her Instagram Story, Vicky said it was about time that she was 'due some good luck.'

She wrote: 'Just been one of those weeks lads... ill at the start of the week, chipped me tooth in a spicy lift with Kai and now Max has popped me nose and cut it in his sheer excitement to see me...
'I can't be mad...but I am by due some good luck surely.'

Vicky and her partner Kai were forced to miss a scheduled appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two on Monday.

However, just hours before the show, she revealed that she had been struck down with illness, and her partner Kai was also feeling unwell.

In a post to Instagram at the time, she wrote: 'Man, or should I say 'men', down. Huge apologies to anyone expecting to see me and Kai on 'It Takes Two' tonight.
'Doing all we can to get back to our best and back to the training room asap.'

Alongside the message, the former Geordie Shore star posted a snap of her recovery essentials, including lozenges, cough syrup, ginger shots, oranges and juice as she battled to shake off the bug.

However, it seems fans began to fear the worst, speculating that Vicky may have quit the show altogether. So, on Thursday, she returned to Instagram to set the record straight.

Posting a beaming selfie with Kai, she wrote: 'There seems to have a bit of a miscommunication! @kaiwidd was poorly earlier on in the week and I wasn't 110% so we had to pull out of our weekly appearance on It Takes Two... that's it.

She went on to clarify: 'I have not dropped out of Strictly... I'm having a lovely time and really grateful for this experience! Plus, Kai is feeling better now so we're back in the rehearsal room AND back on It Takes Two tonight... just thought I'd clear that up.'

In another photo, she explained how her shoes had given her blisters.

However, just hours before the show, she revealed that she had been struck down with illness, and her partner Kai was also feeling unwell.

Vicky and Kai have been hard at work in rehearsals for Saturday night's live show, where they'll be dancing a lively Charleston to A Little Party Never Killed Nobody from The Great Gatsby.

The professionals will take to the floor with a dance dedicated to the story of long-running stage show and Hollywood blockbuster film Wicked this weekend.

In a first look at what fans can expect on the BBC series, it's been revealed that the pros will dress up in fantastical costumes as part of the story-telling dance number.

A series of photos sees the female stars dressed up in all-black like the film's Wicked Witch of the West, as Elphaba Thropp, and the men will portray Prince Fiyero.

The routine, choreographed by Jason Gilkinson, will be performed on Saturday night in celebration of the franchise's second film, Wicked: For Good.

It'll be watched on by actress Cynthia Erivo, who starred as Elphaba alongside Ariana Grande as Glinda in the first Wicked film released last year.

Cynthia, 38, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in film one of the highest-grossing of all time, joins the show as Strictly's first ever Guest Mentor.

The actress has previously appeared on the series as a guest judge back in 2021, covering for Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.

This time, she will help the celebrities is preparing for their film-themed dances.
