Sunday Brunch got off to a chaotic start this week, as Danny Dyer failed to arrive for the first hour of the live programme.
Hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer were quick to inform viewers at the start of the Channel 4 show that the actor, 47, was 'on his way'.
They introduced the star-studded lineup of guests for the latest episode, including Georgia Tennant, Alex Horne, Louise Redknapp, Patrick Grant, Christian Cooke and Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
However, Danny was conspicuous in his absence from the breakfast table, with a chair set out for him remaining empty.
Tim addressed the no-show, explaining that the former EastEnders star was busy filming the second series of hit show Rivals.
He told the audience: 'Now Danny Dyer is joining us today, but he's busy right in the middle of filming Rivals.'
Tim then joked: 'He is on his way though and he's offered to stop in at the services to get pick up some bits and bobs. Anyone want anything?'
Comedian Alex requested: 'A sausage role?' as Tim continued: 'Sausage roll alright, we'll text him later.'
He added: 'He's a very successful man at the moment. He did just get a BAFTA and he'll be celebrating on the show. We'd like to make him feel special'.
Co-host Simon then pulled out of the fridge a comically small bottle of champagne, quipping: 'We've pushed the boat out'.
Despite the explanation for his tardiness, as Danny continued to be a no-show, fans took to social media to ponder over the reasons for his absence and poke fun at Tim and Simon’s attempts to keep things rolling.
One viewer joked that the pair were taking part in Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly’s famous Get Out Of Me Ear prank, where they secretly give instructions to a celeb through an earpiece.
While other quipped: 'Is Danny Dyer stuck in the toilet or something?' and another suggested: 'Danny Dyer spent Saturday night out with the crew and they are still trying to wake him up.'
A fourth person theorised that Channel 4 bosses were worried about Danny's famous potty-mouth on the live show, tweeting: 'What are they waiting for someone to fit in the bleep machine before letting Danny Dyer on?'
However, thankfully Danny later arrived on the set an hour into the broadcast, after wrapping up filming on Rivals for the morning.
The Disney+ show, based on author Jilly Cooper's novel of the same name - premiered in October 2024 and was quickly greenlit for a second season.
Danny was reunited with his co-stars on the steamy drama on Thursday, as filming for the second instalment of the hit show kicked off.
Emily Atack treated fans with some behind-the-scenes snaps with her and Danny having a drink at the pub with co-stars Alex Hassell, Luke Pasqualino and Rufus Jones.
Earlier this month Disney+ confirmed that Rivals will return for a second series after its huge success last year - and they have treated fans to an extra four episodes.
The first series, which was eight episodes, became a huge hit and ended on a huge cliffhanger after David Tennant's character Lord Tony Baddingham was left for dead.
Though the fate of Lord Baddingham appeared dire, it has now been confirmed that David will reprise his role in the upcoming second season in a major casting update.

The streaming service has also confirmed that they have already started filming again, with fans set to be treated to 12 new episodes.
Along with David's return, Alex will reprise his role as Rupert Campbell-Black and Aidan Turner will once again star as Declan O'Hara.
Nafessa Williams will once again take on the role of Cameron Cook; while Bella Maclean will again play Taggie O’Hara; and Emily will return as Sarah Stratton.
The likes of Katherine Parkinson; Claire Rushbrook; Catriona Chandler; Lisa McGrillis; Annabel Scholey; Luca Pacqalino will also be on the show.
Rivals fans previously begged Disney+ for a second series of the saucy show after binge watching all it's eight episodes in a matter of days but were forced to wait months until the news was officially confirmed.
Author and executive producer Dame Jilly Cooper said of the news: 'I'm utterly sex-static filming for the second season is upon us.
'It was magical working with Happy Prince and Disney+ on the first season and seeing everyone fall head over heels for my beloved characters.
'I'm delighted to be able to work with them again and for everyone to see what further mischief they all get up to!'
