Sydney Sweeney has broken her silence regarding speculation she will be playing a Bond Girl as there is a surprising connection between the James Bond franchise and her upcoming lingerie company.

As Amazon MGM has taken over creative control of the iconic film series, it has been rumored that boss Jeff Bezos has been pushing for the 28-year-old blonde bombshell to be the next iconic female protagonist.

Those whispers got even louder when Sweeney attended his wedding to Lauren Sanchez in Italy back in June then it was reported that the newlyweds had 'invested' in Sweeney's upcoming lingerie line.

Now she has addressed the Bond rumors for the very first time in a cover story interview with Variety as she said: ''I can't. [Seven-second pause.] I don't know. [Ten-second pause].

'To be honest, I don't know all the Bond rumors, but I've always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I'm excited and curious to see what they do with it.'

Journalist Tatiana Siegel pressed the star on the issue as she asked the American Eagle spokesperson if she would be interested in a potential script.

Sweeney replied: 'Depends on the script. I think I'd have more fun as James Bond.'

There have been rumors for months that Sweeney has been circling the role of a Bond Girl.

A movie source said earlier this year: 'Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond. Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise...

'They've hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise. Plus she has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, as well as being feminine and following in the legacy of Bond Girls.'

As mentioned earlier, this all comes at an interesting time as in the summer, the Euphoria star raised eyebrows after attending the Amazon founder's, 61, lavish wedding to Sánchez, 55, in Venice, Italy, despite not being friends with the couple.

However, it seems the new clothing project might partly be why, as Jeff and his wife have reportedly 'invested' in her venture, according to Us Weekly at the time.

An insider revealed the Emmy-nominated actress is 'launching a lingerie line very soon', in news that comes in line with rumors she is set to be a Bond Girl.

This comes amid reports that Sweeney is launching a new lingerie line with the help of Amazon billionaire Bezos, 61;

The lingerie line is being backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at private equity firm Coatue according to Puck. The company recently had a $1 billion investment from Bezos and fellow tech giant Michael Dell via their Coatue Innovation Fund.

Bezos' wedding was quite the star-studded affair with the guest list including everyone from Orlando Bloom to Oprah to Kim Kardashian, to name just a few.

Sydney was one of the more surprising celebs spotted at the event, and had many scratching their heads since she doesn't appear to be close friends with either the bride or the groom.

The star made headlines during the festivities by partying with the likes of Tom Brady and recently-single Orlando Bloom.

Still, her inclusion at the lavish $50 million wedding left some baffled, though another recent business collaboration sheds some light on why she was actually there.

It seems Sweeney's arrival was a show of respect for her future boss Bezos, as per Page Six.

Back in March, Sweeney signed on to star in the video game adaptation of the recent hit Split Fiction.

The adaptation will be directed by Jon M. Chu (Wicked) and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool & Wolverine).

Sydney's invitation to Bezos's wedding also appears to be linked to another recent business deal. In March, she was cast as the star of the video game adaptation Split Fiction. Then, in early June, Amazon MGM Studios acquired the project.

Then in early June, Amazon MGM Studios picked up the project, which seemingly lead to an invite extended to Sweeney for Bezos' wedding.

A source admitted Sweeney, 'is not friends with either one of them,' though adding she, 'came to pay respect to the 'boss,' just like in the old days of Hollywood.'

The fantasy/sci-fi game Split Fiction follows authors Mio and Zoe who become trapped within the worlds they have written.

It's unclear which of the two main characters Sweeney will portray, with Amazon said to be 'actively looking' to cast her co-star.
