A mother in Texas is pleading for the return of her 19-year-old daughter who disappeared from their home on Christmas Eve morning.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office shared a missing person's bulletin on the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 24, about Camila Mendoza Olmos' disappearance. She was last seen leaving her residence on the 11000 block of Caspian Spring in northwest Bexar County at about 6:58 a.m. local time that day.
"Video footage from that time shows an unknown individual, believed to be Camila, searching inside her vehicle for an unidentified item," the bulletin read. "Moments later, the footage ends. It is believed that she left the residence on foot, as her vehicle remained at the location."
According to Camila's mom, the teen normally went out for a morning walk, the sheriff's office added; however, Camila did not return after a reasonable amount of time.
Camila is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 110 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, baby blue pajama bottoms and white shoes, authorities said. She may have had her car keys and driver's license at the time of her disappearance, the sheriff's office said.
A CLEAR alert has been issued for Camila by the Texas Department of Public Safety, identifying her as a missing adult who is "possibly endangered."
Rosario Olmos, Camila's mother, told CBS affiliate KENS in a story published on Thursday, Dec. 25, that she and her daughter had been sleeping together that Christmas Eve morning at their home. Rosario recalled feeling Camila get up from the bed.
About 90 minutes later, Rosario woke up and couldn't find her daughter in the home, although Camila’s car still remained at the residence. She told KENS that she called Camila’s cell phone, which was on the bed.
“I put it to charge and went out to look for her. I thought I would find her like other times, walking, and we would come home together,” she told the outlet.
After contacting Camila's boyfriend and father, both of whom said they hadn't seen the teen, Rosario reached out to authorities.
Efforts from Camila's family and friends to find her on Christmas Day were unsuccessful.
“I only ask God to please bring her back home,” Rosario, who also asked for prayers from the community, told KENS. “Bring her back to me.”
