Veteran Australian TV presenter Sarah Harris is embarking on a shock career move and is set to join Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell on Nova's Sydney breakfast radio show.

The former co-host of The Project, 44, will be joining Ricki-Lee and Tim on their revamped radio program from its premiere on Monday, February 9.

Harris expressed her excitement about joining the program in a statement.

'This is a massive "pinch me" moment. There's something hugely intimate and authentic about radio. I'm so pumped to be waking up with Ricki-Lee and Tim,' she began.

She then revealed the surprising reason she was looking forward to working in radio.

'I've been in the TV news game my whole career... I love that I'm getting the chance to deliver it on Nova 96.9, without spending an hour in the hair and make-up chair!' she said.

Harris has almost three decades of experience in the media and has previously co-hosted several TV shows, including The Project and Studio 10.

Nova announced a huge shake-up in January when the station revealed it had axed Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie from the early morning slot and replaced them with Ricki-Lee & Tim.

The pair previously co-hosted the station's drive show alongside Joel Creasey.

Joel recently revealed his next big career move after it was announced he wouldn't be joining Ricki-Lee and Tim on Breakfast radio.

Fans of their current Drive show were left confused when comedian Joel didn't appear to be included in the announcement, despite being the third member of their team.

Now, the host, 35, has revealed on the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel show that he won't be moving far because he has just landed his very own national show on Nova.

Nova's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie AXED from breakfast time slot

'Very much inspired by the heavenly Chrissie Swan, I'm going solo,' he announced on air.
'What were they thinking! You'll be able to hear The Joel Creasey Show nationally at lunchtimes.'
'And yeah, I guess the boss has figured the world is already on fire. Let's just pour more gasoline onto it and see what chaos he can cause!' he joked.

Co-host Tim, 44, later quipped to Joel: 'When you think about it, lunchtime for you is kind of breakfast radio for you... we're all kind of getting up earlier.'

'You've got your own version of breakfast!' Ricki-Lee, 40, added.

'I really do! That is my breakfast,' Joel responded.

Nova has since revealed in a media release that The Joel Creasey Show is set to make its debut in April.

It comes after news broke that Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie would be leaving the Breakfast time slot and shifting into national Drive instead.
